Kensington vs Port Adelaide
West Torrens vs Adelaide
Glenelg vs Sturt
Woodville vs Tea Tree Gully

Fair way off (Sunday January 29) but on paper they look like some intriguing match ups.

Been a great season so far with West Torrens and Adelaide the bolters, both nestled in the top four. Three of last season's semi finalists currently outside the top four. Would expect TTG and Sturt to come home strong after Christmas though.

Three of the top 4 (West Torrens, Kensington, Adelaide) have also had their Bye, so that is another massive bonus. Teams like Glenelg, TTG, East Torrens and Sturt have one less game to play after Xmas break.

Think it will be similar to last years finish, with several teams a chance to play finals going into the final round, and teams missing by five points or percentage.

That a few clubs are struggling to fill lower grades is an issue no doubt and needs some resources thrown at it to fix.

Reading the transcripts SACA briefly considered 14 but ruled it out at this point in time. However if a club chose to move however......

Think the 14th team in Mt Barker is about 4 or 5 years away, so will remain 13 teams and a Bye until then.

1st West Torrens 100 points
2nd Kensington 95
3rd Glenelg 85*
4th Adelaide 75

5th Tea Tree Gully 75*
6th East Torrens 70*
7th Woodville 60
8th Port Adelaide 60*
9th Sturt 55*
10th Southern District 55*
11th University 35
12th Prospect 25
13th Northern Districts 10

* = bye to come

Game changes a bit now. Three one dayers out of the first seven rounds whereas now there is a block of five 2-day games in a row. Balance shifts towards the teams capable of taking 10 wickets.

West Torrens backs-to-the-wall season has been stunning. Also in T20 semis. Big seasons from Daniel Drew and Spencer Johnson. Hearing good things about Bailey Capel.

Glenelg's batting is strong. Not sure about their bowling?

If Adelaide have their Holy Trinity of Raphael, Valente, Cormack they'll do some damage. Does their Pom go home though?

Is Haberfield injured? TTG need him back especially with Winter not there either.

Southerns missing Staunton (any whispers of a comeback?) and also Rhys Barrett. Just lost a bit of bowling depth.

Can Sturt's spinners get on a roll like they did after xmas last season?

Woodville the most dangerous team outside the four I reckon. If they can get Turley, Francesca, Tietjens all fit plus Andrews, Nielsen, McInerney, Coles that is a bloody strong line up.

41 degrees on Saturday

Summer has arrived with a vengeance! Imagine they'll cancel C's and D's on Saturday? One dayers Sunday perhaps. Juniors off too I guess.

A's and B's will power through.

Port and Kensi captains did well to contrive an outright. West Torrens also outright winners. Top 2 forming a bit of a gap. Big game next week for top of the table.

Recent games between WTCC & WCC have been very spicey, emotional, tense and with bad blood between them. Today's game was no exception with verbal from both sides. The poor standard of umpiring just added fuel to the fire! With both sides on edge, it was great to see both sides having a drink together after the game and repairing some bridges. Hopefully this will go some way to engendering more cordial relations between the two sides in the future.

What are everyone's thoughts on the whole setting up a game thing? Is it fair enough or just not cricket?

Necessary evil due to the non compulsory declaration. Otherwise sides will play for draws each week.

It doesn't sit right imo.

If the team that wins first innings loses outright, they lose 10 points. Perhaps the team that loses first innings should also lose 10 points if they lose outright (I.e. minus 10 points for the game).

Interesting to see a player who is playing seniors for a club with no juniors has been cleared to play for another club in the Under 17's shield. :?

How does a clearance occur after 31 December?
