One of the lads Rory Andrews (left armer) should be playing for the Jets, but was disgruntled and left them for more opportunities. Only 16???? so more growing to go. Will be a dangerous bowler when he reaches his peak. Also good to see Kenny McConnell having another bowl, was a great bowler before he had trouble with his shoulder. Give him a couple of games to get the confidence back, would have being a luxury to have him first change on the weekend.

He was a designated 12th man for the Jets in their 16's last season meaning he was still allowed to bowl, he wasn't too happy about that.

It wasn't ideal considering we went in short in the bowling department anyway.

Well considering that it was a good effort to have them rolled for 110 odd. See Raud 5 for, heard rumours last year he was disgruntled out there. A very good cricketer, damaging with bat and ball. Good to watch when on song.

Raed is currently on 20 odd aswell and looking good, one positive of losing our opening bowler from last season is that Raed will bowl more this season, he's very tricky. He gets offers elsewhere every season but he's a stayer, there's a few that are a tight knit group and the young lads look up to him and enjoy his advice. With a couple of new batsmen in the side it will relieve some pressure off of him and he can play his natural game.

While Rory is no Don Bradman with the bat, he still enjoys getting out there and having a hit. So when he didn't get a hit with the Jets, he wasn't happy which is fair enough. He is improving so good luck to him. It will be like McGrath making a 50 when Rory reaches the 20 mark.

Bobbed in there before watching some Lodge v AV, well done EP, their bowling attack would be quite handy in Grade 1. 1 tip down for me too....

Is that where you picked those two kids up from - I was wondering which playground ;)

Johnny Knapp came to training last Thursday asking if we could give him a game. For those who remember, John had a stroke as we were finishing a game last season and spent over 3 months in hospital.
Although he has come a long way in his rehab, he is still a fair way off playing again, he still wanted to help out in some way, he ended going to watch his son play B's and done some umpiring and scoring. His son picked up 6 wickets in the B's and John was a bit emotional when he got back to the club, it's times like these that make the game so special, he's stuck on 98 games now, hopefully he can get to the elusive 100 that he's after.

I've told him that his 100th has to be a legitimate game where he can go and have a hit.

not when you miss the ball and lose your middle stump
BTW - good effort from AV players to give a bloke who made 50 odd a right royal send off and point him towards the clubrooms - I think he has made the walk often enough by now to know where it is ;)

Yeah solid form, can't say they are out of form because they weren't in long enough ;)

So with the scores looking like they are, any predictions for results?? (Besides the Parkies)

I'm going with

SW by 60 runs, SN, BL by 5 runs, R/C easily

Craigmore, Playford, Smithfield.

Groover, are your scores right? Below is what is listed on the my cricket website.

ATCO 228 (Sutton 108, Marks 85; J.denEngelse 3/37, Demeo 2/36) v Salisbury North 0/22

Was interested because with 2 blokes making 193 out of 223, doesn't leave much for the rest.......

Also keen to know if Cauchi did get 5 for, thought he was mainly a batter and barely bowled.
