Can't do much about the two games at Kahlin oval (the two PNG games) playing on an absolute postage stamp, explains Ross' knock and the bowling figures from the grit boys

Not to mention setting the pitch on fire to dry it out after a watering mishap

Explains why ended up a 30 over match!

Is this the same oval they play on every year, normally says Marrara No. 2? Or is it a different oval this year?

No wonder there are so many sixes hit then!

It's Darwin CC home ground, normally the second game is at Marara No.2 but they have just re done the square there which included a drop in wicket, some CA experimenting with Red clay wickets

Correct!

Incorrect.

It was only in grade cricket for a few years.
Elizabeth had a long cricket history and lost pretty much most of it when it merged with Salisbury.
Would have been better that they dropped back to ATCA.
The club would have been fine.

Yep, was hardly a merge, it was a takeover, I lost my interest then.

Elizabeth CC was a great place to play cricket.

true oval, short sides relatively long, lengthwise.

End of the dry, any thing backward of point, from the marina end that beats the field is four, downhill towards the nets, give it up...

Also cars will be in danger square of the oval, seen many a ball clear the pavillion (single story) and go into the houses across the road on the full

best deck in Darwin
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

How many games will the Players in the JLT cup miss? Few teams will be significantly weakened for the first few rounds

They will miss Round 1 on 14th October, if Redbacks make the finals they will also miss Round 2. Then Sheffield Shield starts weekend of Round 3.

So potentially they may play Round 2 and that's it at best.

West Torrens may struggle early! No Johnson or Smith, Kelly due to retire again and Williams doesn't seem to be bowling very well by the look of the RL scores.

Heard that Max Parker young medium pacer from Sturt did his knee playing footy. I guess means he'll miss the season. Had a pretty solid year in 1st Grade last season.

I heard Alex Reardon has dropped out of the State U19's. Nothing sinister - think it's just the time pressure of Year 12. Same with Harvey Brennan. Both really good young players. Tough to fit everything in.

Still playing cricket, just dropped out of U19s. They train 4 times a week. Pretty full on (as you'd expect)

Heard over the last few days that Northerns got bowled out for 80 by Port Adelaide in a trial game over the weekend. Could be another tough slog for them this year.

And Port players were retiring on 40 after only a few overs.
