How Steve Smith is rated in our top 6 is beyond me. Potentially, maybe but come on.

Christian is hot and at the top of his game and they pick that shmuck Hastings ?

If wud means what I think it does:
Smith: Ferguson, Warner or Hodge.
Lee & Bollinger: Rimmington, Drew or Hogan.
Hastings: Christian.

Get rid of the NSW players in the side. They are over rated players. Smith, Lee, Clarke, Bollinger, Haddin.
Haddin is probably the only NSW player to keep his spot but is under immense pressure from Paine.

I agree Oz Smith is no where near a No6 bat YET.

What about Doc Harris from SA?

I'd get Usman Khawaja in the side quick smart. His hundred against SA was a master class. Just hit gaps at will.

Both.
Smith will never be a top 6 batsman in this country, and Harris may have scored some runs the last couple of T20 games but really has done F**K all for SA, infact i doubt whether he would even average over 30 for the 'backs.

Harris would night even register in any of the selectors wildest dreams.

Harris has done well in the T20s for SA of late but done little else.

Averages under 30 for SA in both 4 day and 1 day games. And he's hardly a kid, he's 31, so hard to imagine we're going to see much improvement.

Daniel Harris:
1st Class 48 matches, 93 innings, 2649 runs @ 29.76 and only 4 100s
List A 40 matches, 40 innings, 976 runs @ 25.02 and NO 100s

I agree with Smith but I did say yet, he may be a player in the future.
They could do worse than pick Harris, bats well in one dayers IMO and thats all it is. The selectors are having wild dreams and that is why they cant pick a winning team!

Had an excuse, was playing on a super 8s oval with SA chasing a massive total. Wasn't the only one who went for runs that night, but your right statistically he is the worst.

I agree whole-heartedly! The selectors are out of their minds!
Its time to blood the youth and by that i dont mean 30 - 34 year olds as the Aussie selectors have generally done.
Out of the current one day WC squad i would make the following changes:

M Clarke out, C Fergusson in. (SA)
D Hussey out, M Marsh in. (WA)
J Hastings out, D Christian in. (SA)
D Bollinger out, J Pattinson in. (VIC)
N Hauritz out, X Dougherty or S Okeefe in. (TAS & NSW)

B Lee, B Haddin & S Smith are others in question possibly replaced by T Birt, M Cameron & U Khawaja. (TAS, NSW, NSW)

Not a bad squad Goldy. I will add another change M Hussey out for S Marsh. Not sure on the fitness of M Marsh at the moment.
