AGM is on this Monday night, August 24th, at 7:30pm at the Adelaide Lutheran clubrooms in the south parklands.

Be there to see BloodyBouncer's election onto the exec committee!

Grades will probably be finalised mid-September.

The Association would have next to no teams if The Exec ruled like a dictatorship. As Eck' said, it's the votes of the member teams who dictate the rules, as it should be. The Clubs and it's players need to take some responsibility for their actions (or inactions) and not lay sole blame on The Exec every time there's a grip or a whinge.

On another note, I've been told the 'CUSA Cup' isn't gonna be the 'CUSA Cup' this year, but there will be inter-Association matches. Who, when and what the competition will be called, I am unsure at this stage. Club delegates will be notified as more info comes to light and I'll chuck what I know up on here as I find out. Like last year, unless there is support from the Clubs for an U21 side, only a senior side will represent C&CCA in the tournament. Looking forward to seeing plenty of talent, new & old, throwing their hat into the ring for a spot in the side so we have some tough selection decisions to make!

And for the record, what the coaches consider to be the strongest 12 available at the time will be selected for each match, not a 'free-for-all' like some people would like to see. ;) Having said that, being a non-Carnival year, we'd also like to see how untried players perform at this level if they are considered to be 'in the mix', so ideally we'd love to have a rotation policy in place if our pool of talent is plentiful. We'll see what happens in that regard... At the end of the day, the trainings are as much about providing (hopefully) quality coaching in a competitive, friendly environment amongst the better quality players within C&CCA, looking to pass on tips to try improve each players game, as young Pidgey can validate. ;)

Bring on 2009/10. Good luck to all, and don't go too hard, too early BB... ;)

idea still sucks major a$$ anyway. if it gets voted in, its a shamozzle. Surely the selected exec will not let this pass.....will be a bad vibe for the whole season.

Again, it is not up to the exec - changes to the match rules must be voted on at the AGM.

If you believe such decisions should be left entirely up to the exec, you need to propose a change to the constitution.

i firmly recall a majority vote of a rule change (prob the heat policy) NOT being implemented by the exec.

.....lots of things i propose mate...maybe in 5 years when i have some time i will.

i may be harsh on the exec, and righlty so!!, but at the end of the day if it wasnt for their time to admister this comp, well we couldnt be playing.....and that i always duly acknowledge.

my opinion is, long term, we need to align ourselves with the rest of the hardwicket associations.

The asca's was on last tuesday which was day 5 of the test at Leeds. Don't panic Ricky and the boys will look after you all and wrap up the game in 3 or 4 days, just have a little faith.
