Wouldn't be an issue i think although maybe the Strath pitch may test their batsman a bit if the usual green tops are produced.

Strathalbyn v Nairne Strathalbyn Oval
Langhorne Creek - Bye

My picks for the first round, not going off much seeing as it is the first week.

Lobethal V Echunga/Mylor, big test for the boys this week, will be interesting to see how the team go's in its first game together. pains me to say but will have to go with Loby from what i have heard they are a strong side, happy to be wrong tho

hahndorf to easily knock of cally, will be interesting to see how the box heads go this year, have some good young players but were on the downward slide last year after a long run at the top

game of the round! will have to go Mt barker, buckland to take a few wickets and bowl all day no doubt

Woodside to take it out over wistow, they will be glad to get there game at the hill out of the way early in the year!

Strath V nairne, see nairne being to strong again for the stallions

Agree with all your tips.

Are the 1 day rounds going to be played under 2 day rules ? Bcos unless they are, Buckland can only bowl 8 overs.

And as for Woodside getting their game AT Wistow out of the way early :? Arn't they playing at Woodside?

Your right there, it would be 1 day rules i think, normaly only play them under 2 day rules if one week is rained/heated out. And think I've gotta get some glass's

Yes JJ Big signing - Tarque will be coaching Langhorne's creek this season with Luke Tonkin and Todd Dellatore returning with him.

Shaun Golding returning from Imps and Ben Warren available full time which will almost start them flag favourites with the bookies!!

Just an update on the abovementioned players.
Tarque IS coaching and playing @ L.Creek
Todd Dellatore IS playing @ L.Creek
Shaun Golding has returned to L.Creek and the former Premiership Captain will again take the reins of their 'A' Grade.

Luke Tonkin despite doing the entire pre season with his original home club L.Creek will remain at Meadows for reasons unbeknown. :? Have my thoughts but wont discuss them on here.
His brother James is back on the track again after not being sighted since the 2007 premiership.

Just when Ben Warren looked set to be able to fully commit to a FULL season of cricket, he has returned to League footy with Norwood for 2 years and along with a possible change of employment will see him make limited appearances again for the Langhorne Creek Tigers.

I can't believe that A grade & B grade HCA only have the 3 games each week. B's has lost 4 teams & gained 1. Not good. And WTF happened to SCIB's A grade?

Just Quietly, having played in the SCIB A grade last game, i can honestly say we were struggling for numbers in A grade and B Grade due to several weddings and players being on holidays with their families after the footy season. Add in the ironbank footy trip this weekend, most players decided to wait until after the footy trip to play.
It's a little upsetting when you have to forfiet your C Grade 2 weeks in a row so they can come up and fill in for the B Grade so the B Graders could come up into A grade.
In saying that, lets be clear on this, Bridgewater deserve a lot of credit. They bolwed well and except for the first 45 minutes on day one, they caught everything within 2 metres of them.
They Batted very well, turning up the run rate from ball one on day two and unfortunately in our second innings we were not good enough to hang in there.
When you play on Saturdays you put your best 11 out on the field, and thats what we did, we have no one else to blame except ourselves.
In saying this, i wouldn't expect the same result again this year as we beleive we have a very gun side when all are available and we think we can match it with the best. Obviously it didnt workout on the weekend but theres always round 3.

Cool, cheers for that. I was wondering what was behind such a drop from last year, but there are a few good reasons in there. I think Bridgey will go OK in any case. It'll still be Meadows, Uris & the rest, but that 3rd & 4th spot should be hotly contested. I think a few clubs are struggling for numbers at this stage. I know at the Gate there are a few changes so the win against Onkas is a really good result.

Interesting. I'm still not sure how they can play in the A&EH comp one week, and then HCA the next. I was sure there were bylaws saying once you've played in one comp you cant play in another without getting a clearance.

Anyway, it's happening, no point worrying about it.

A few things will need to be sorted out come before finals time. Like do A&EH A grade games count as games in a higher grade when it comes to HCA finals qualifications?

Not dirty on Mas at all, if its allowed then I have no problem with it. He certainly was the difference between the teams however.

Our D grade had 5 players over 40 and the remianing 6 players were all teenagers, not one player between 20 and 40!
