Pretty sure i didnt use it as a excuse but question whether the boundaries were always that big...we were out played and could of got on here blaming the pitch but i dont think the pitch got any wickets on sat...2 dayer will be alot different..

So you are copying footy hey? Next you will be paying players

If we copy footy properly we will lose in the semi's and get into an all in brawl

You are right, the pitch had no impact on any of the wickets. Much made about nothing.

Perhaps you should re-read his post mate, don't think he was using it as an excuse :?

He said he wasn't using it as an excuse, then what was he conmenting on it for?? Brahmas ground is always big.

Also, singing the club song does improve moral at the club. After a hard earned win you should sing it loud and proud. You will find most cricket clubs do this.

If a song lifts moral imagine what training would do...
Not a excuse...just a good tactic to push them out 10mtrs against a team with some good hitters in it...not saying they did..just a thought..both teams played on it but i feel brahma have more blokes who work the ball around than us in a oneday game..
Couldnt care as the reel cricket starts now anyway..

It is also called a home ground advantage.

Yesterday it was awesome to actually bowl to a team that batted properly! Even tho we lost, still was good to see the batsman play with a straight bat, and cover drive balls. Haven't seen much of that this year at all!

Thats is definitely something that stands out in the PDCA, a lot of batsmen who go for the big shots rather than the conventional. Must say though, some grounds do leave you no choice, like OTH and Greenwith pre-christmas.

Did get sledged by a bloke fielding at point yesterday because I was "trying to get my technique right". Guess techniques are not required these days, cant all be going around and charging balls, inventing shots....

Greenwith pre christmas? Why the change?

Greenwith pre-christmas was loaded with pot holes, and quite slow. Over the holidays the council dumped a heap of sand on it, and it has grown over nicely. While not the quickest oval around, it is far from slow.

I liked a couple comments from your lads, "The outfield is quicker in the afternoon". Golden.

On the contrary, i thought my best chance to extend my gap was to knock over the runs ASAP and collect 2 bonus points. Wasn't sure with the heat etc and an understrength lineup that we would post more than say 250.

Its hard to stay at the top though when Salisbury West get to play on that shoe box every other week and chew in points on us :( need a big win against a very in form Virginia this week.

Oh don't you worry, I know i'm shocking when it comes to technique  Although i'm not someone who would call themselves a batsman!

Yeah the ovals don't help one bit, its almost a waste not to go in the air at OTH, you can pretty much cut a 6 with ease rather than get one for your cut along the ground. Always a risk though.

A game once again played in good spirits. OKC with some enterprising stroke play threatened to make the game close......until he was bounced out

After i was so nice to you by getting you off the mark with a full toss. Last time that happens mate.

Yeah no doubt there are slow parts, the southern part of the oval is slightly uphill, as well as thicker. If you hit towards the northern goals, or even the club house, it is considerably quicker. Plus you are right, the lack of boundaries for the match would make it seem a bit slower too, I can understand that.
