Yeah i know, but if they were to merge the competitions then it would no longer be only representing PDCA.

I know what you mean tho with wanting to drive 5 mins. Nothing better than leaving a couple of mins before you have to be there!

Yeah, it's pretty handy driving to OTH, Craigmore, Eastern Park, ATCO, Angle Vale or Playford, especially if you forget someone, the ball or scorebook

I agree, they have to do something.

ATCA travels from as far as Argana Park as a home ground through to Brighton.

I'm sure most clubs could sort something out.

Reynella is a nice little trip too.... Brighton isn't that bad.

If the 2 comps merge how would it be possible for a certain player to play for a different team under a dodgy name?

GRADE 3
Units 96.91: BYE, ATCO(h), Sm(A).
Parks 89.29: PG(h), AV(a), Cr(h).
ATCO 87.94: Cr(h), CU(a), PG(h).
Craigmore 66.88: ATCO(a), Sm(h), EP(a).

Smithfield 59.91: AV(h), Cr(a), CU(h).
Gardens 58.06: EP(a), BYE, ATCO(a).
Vale 31.48: Sm(a), EP(h), BYE.

I think Eastern Park will take minor premiership honours here given their run home compared to the Units and ATCO. ATCO will be a danger team for the finals though with plenty of experience, it will be interesting to see who qualifies for them come finals time.
Craigmore will be pinning it's hopes on their round 13 clash with Smithfield, this will be an integral game as far as finals make-up is concerned, whoever wins this will make the 4. Whether they can cause an upset or not remains to be seen as the top 3 seem more skilled outfits.
Gardens have a tough run home so if they were to make the finals from here, they'd probably win it.

Agreed, i suggested this a while back.
The pros are obviously a strengthened competition for both assoc, churches are dying at the moment the way they are going and PDCA have begun to lose some clubs as well.
The cons, well churches would be reluctant to join due to their biannual national carnival which is obviously a very important event for them and the major jewel in their assoc cap.
No longer would SAMCA games be played between the two.
Travel would be a minor con i would imagine.

LM you said about travelling from Stmithfield to Adel Luth in the city, well as far as i see it first of all you would have to be placed in the same division, 2nd of all it really isnt that far, i travel from Enfield to R&C every thurs night and then every Sat.
Wasleys is a decent trek as well, yet the trip still has to be done.
Some other churches sides though are:
Para Vista (Greenacres F.C)
North East Knights (Greenacres) - near Adel Bangladesh Tigers ground, who also play in PDCA.
Fitzroy
Enfield - Same road as Greenacres F.C
Ross Smith - two blocks from NEK
Rose Park - Closer to the city

So you see all the churches clubs are generally in the same vicinity, just near Grand Junction Rd/Main North Rd. Also you would be talking about travelling 7 times a season, and if you had maybe two or 3 churches sides in your div thats only a few times you would need to travel very far towards the city.

on a side note phantom,
the cricket carnival you speak of imagine for a minute what the side could do if we had the chance to pick from pdca and c&cca , reackon would definately be a very strong side . so dont see a negative there.

hmm yeah not really a church carnival side then though is it? And if churches joined PDCA, what banner would you play under? Churches would need to keep some of their identity to still be allowed to compete.

But yes would be a good side no doubt.

GRADE 4
Rosies 128.08: Vir(a), SW(h), NP(a).
Westies 122.75: TW(h), R&C(a), PT(h).
Pines 106.63: SN(h), TW(a), R&C(h).
Virginia 75.65: R&C(h), PT(a), SN(h).

Teachers 64.21: Was(a), Vir(h), SW(a).
2 Wells 63.29: SW(a), NP(h), Was(a).
North 60.25: NP(a), Was(h), Vir(a).
Wasleys 27.46: PT(h), SN(a), TW(h).

Can anyone stop the top two teams here, they will face off in round 13 at Ridley Reserve to determine minor premiership, throw in North Pines and the fast finishing Virginia and we'll have a very interesting finals series for this grade. Could this be the one that has the upsets in the semi's, quite possibly.
Virginia must overcome Para Teachers in round 13 in what looks to be a hum-dinger of a round, we'll have the top two, the bottom two and the two vying for 4th all play-off in the one round.
As stated before, Westies have greater opportunity to score big runs through Forts and the fact they play on the small oval, this will come down to the wire if Westies knock rosies off at Ridley.

I think SW have a far more favorable run home than rosies, regardless if they win or lose next round.
SW play 2 games at home against weak opposition, strong chance to snag at least one outright if not post some very high scores, while R&C have just the one home game, and away games to the on fire Virginia this round and 3rd place North Pines in the last round.

Finals will just about be a toss of the coin IMO.

Mate, you choose to travel that far, you are talking to someone who sold their house in Cheltenham to move closer to where they play sport. Yeah, I guess they aren't too far but still, I like the localness of how it is.

Hey Phantom, show us your tits....Rose Parks play out of St Pauls at Gilles Plains these dayz. Adelaide Luth, Seaton and Fitzies would be the furthest to travel from Para Districts. Again like you i live in Para Districts area but travel to North Adelaide to play each week. Anyways i'm not for it ATM. I think by the time some of these outer northern areas build up and more clubs come into it then Para Districts can survive aswell as churches if they pick up some inner northern clubs. Both comps can survive with six or seven or eight divisions.
