Dont know how a club chooses a bloke to captain when his own team mates were bagging him out and saying how much of a tool he is

That wouldnt be Blondie and JC would it? If so, they been round a long time and play hard, but they will always shake yr hand at the end of the game.

Should tell duck mann how much they've mellowed over the last 5 years or so. Lol.

couldnt care less how much they've mellowed over the last 5 years or so... dont care if they were just having a 'bad day'.... act like a W*NK*R and I'll call you a W*NK*R!

Yeah I no. It was his first ball too felt soo bad once I did it was to scared to get out coz then I would have to face him on the sidelines. Beers in the stands wouldn't been nice but was more fun hitting the ball to the stands. Was great bat for 60 odd no had a bowl was unbelievable day!!

You haven't played PDCA til you've had a run in with Blondie and JC. They'll get to you every time if you let them.

Pfft. 9 other blokes playing for Salisbury West thought you blokes were a bunch of sooks who didn't realise a bloke can't be out if the ball pitches outside leg. Then your wicketkeeper gets into an argument with square leg umpire because the keeper was adamant "if the catch was dropped it would have to have been given out" when the catch was taken. And you think the square leg umpire was acting like a 3 year old? The point was moot and NOT going to be given out if the catch wasn't taken so why did he walk over to square leg to continue the conversation? White line fever affects OTH players too apparently. But I bet you're going to tell us all how you can see where a ball from a right arm bowler pitches in relation to a left hand batsman from mid off

You got the wickets you deserved, and nothing more. Deal with it.

shows how much you know mate... all i said to the young batsman was be careful if you say "drop it" while a fielder is trying to take a catch... and i said to him "just so that you know for when you are playing a higher level with an official umpire"... then the bloke at square leg wouldn't shut up about it as though I was having a crack at the batsman. He wouldn't accept I was trying to give the young bloke some information so he doesn't do it when an official ump is around (I learnt the hard way!!! which I told him too...).

and ball pitch outside leg? right arm bowler bowling inswing to a left hand batsman hitting off-stump??? that's not leg stump buddy!!!! maybe if it was a right-hand batsman you would be right but not a lefty buddy!!

oh, and funny how the first bloke who was umpiring would have given out your opening bat if I claimed the caught behind but I was honest enough to say it bounced in-front of me and didn't even try to claim it and his comments were "nice to see some honesty around the place"!!!

Ah, so now I know why you needed to go over to him and continue the conversation and hold up the game. After the game is the more appropriate time to say things like that. If you really were wanting to help him out if he played higher, you didn't need to tell him right then and there, did you? The guy at square leg was the one who was ready to get on with the game, so don't try to tell me it was him who was going on about it when you were the one not ready to continue the game.

Geez Graham, if you posted everytime Blondie or JC got into some contraversy this website would go into meltdown, they are both good blokes but they intentionally bait hotheads from the opposition, it's alright from your side of the fence, you don't have to listen to it, it can get pretty annoying for the untrained.

I remember hearing about that. Rat is someone else (played his 300th for the club last week actually) who doesn't mind a yap. But I thought the story was Blondie was batting and Rat was yelling from the sidelines and never went out to face you guys. Was only a few years later they defended 89 in a GF in grade 3, apparently the umpire said the sledging display was the best since Hookesy from those two.

No doubt. I'm always happier they're on my side than the other (also because they can really play the game still) but we still have to come up against blokes who can yap and we tend to take the good with the bad most of the time.

But nothing wrong with baiting the hotheads, all part of the game. What we don't like to see is revenge umpiring. I reckon in all the time I've played cricket I've had 2 LBWs turned down just because the bloke umpiring wanted to get one back. Every other time I've been disappointed I thought the bloke was doing his best and we just happened to disagree.

Def not how the story went....we had about 12 overs to bowl and was very keen to see rat out there, after batting at 4 in the first inn we thought it wouldnt take long to get him out there but he kept sending in the young fellas to face the music, i was yelling out to him to come and back it up...he ended up facing one over from willy and 5 balls from myself....the rat was as quiet as a mouse for those 11 balls

I honestly dont remember facing him...i made about 20 and a 16 year old got me out...i was that keen to keep it going i went and umpired and rat got stuck into me bigtime...saying he had won grade 1 premierships and i was a nobody and so on...he then came onto bowl and we were still going on..i pinged him for 2 wides in a row and said if you dont shut up this will be the longest over in history..he then got a wicket and 11 blokes had a crack at me for sledging while umpiring...this hole time willy was at the non strikers end loving it... Yeah i reckon your dad did play mate but i cant remember him saying to much?
