How do they work out percentage in that comp?

Disagree, never liked the performance points as they are far to big an advantage to teams playing on the much smaller ovals. Whilst it wont generally determine who makes finals or not it makes a huge difference at the end of the year when competiting against teams on the same amount of wins or loses in the case of relegation or home finals etc.

Also reckon 12 points for the outright is slightly too high considering and that at times the last few weeks of 2 dayers becomes a bit of a shamble compared to how the 2 dayers are played before Christmas. Especially considering I could list of many a game at the end of the season where teams have 'paid off' other teams to declare or 'make a game of it' Farcial really, in saying that we were on the end of lot of free alcohol at times.

The current comp I play in goes off the W/L record 2 points for a win, 0 for a loss and then percentage if teams cant be separated on points. Cant be much fairer than that.

Make your oval smaller if you feel a need to, Virginia have done it in the past, we used to make ours as big as possible as we had hitting ability.

At the end of the day, the 6 points on offer is worth 600 runs so I think that's enough incentive, 200 runs is equivalent of bowling a side out so that part is fair, the best two teams generally play in the GF so all's well that ends well.

I think it's very fair, even though our 14's nearly got jipped for not chasing outrights.

That's just a regular NRR calc isnt it? =(runs for/wkts against)/(runs against/wkts for).

By that, sides who play on smaller grounds will still hold a slight advantage over sides due to more runs generally being scored.

They only play one dayers, makes life a fair bit easier.

Nah, its's not Net Run Rate. Looks like they use a quotient

(Runs scored * Wickets taken) / (Runs conceded * Wickets lost)

Smaller grounds are no advantage because you'll also have more runs scored against you.

Score runs or take wickets... your quotient goes up.

Concede runs or lose wickets... your quotient goes down.

Personally I think this is the fairest system for competitions with two day matches and one dayers where you continue batting even after the score has been passed.

Net run rate is simply your run rate when you bat minus the opposition's run rate when you bowl. That is the best system for one day/T20 competitions where you stop once the score is passed.

Ah yes whoops getting mixed up - i had the correct formula at least haha!

Figured it would be somewhat balanced, but still lopsided because if Team A plays 8 or 9 games at home that's more opportunities for higher scores, other sides only get that one off opportunity (if that makes sense).

Tea Tree Gully vs Adelaide at Pertaringa Oval

2nd Grade
Kensington vs Tea Tree Gully at Port Reserve
University vs East Torrens at Park 12 No 1

3rd Grade
Glenelg vs Prospect at Glenelg Oval
Kensington vs University at Col Waite Oval

4th Grade
Sturt vs Kensington at Price Memorial Oval
East Torrens vs Tea Tree Gully at Campbelltown Oval

Women's 1st Grade
Kensington vs Southern District at Ford Oval
Northern Districts vs Sturt at Salisbury Oval

Women's 2nd Grade
University vs Kensington at Park 12 No 2
Southern District vs Northern Districts at Bice Oval

Under 16 Reds
West Torrens vs Sturt at Henley Oval
Prospect vs Adelaide at Prospect Oval

Under 16 Whites
Sturt vs Glenelg at AA Bailey Reserve
Woodville vs Northern Districts at Woodville Oval

Under 14 Reds
Adelaide vs Woodville at Glandore Oval
Northern Districts vs Southern District at The Paddocks

Under 14 Whites
Sturt vs Prospect at ??? (blank on Mycricket)
Adelaide vs Southern District at West Beach

Good to see a couple of Southern District junior teams in finals. Wasn't that long ago that they were struggling.

Will be interesting if Shield players do play, as they start next Wednesday.

Head will play for TTG I reckon.

And Uni could have Weatherald, Mennie and Winter!

Was tipping Adelaide and Kensy, think this could swing both matches the other way!

And if the Redbacks lose in two days again they could play the grand final too!

GDCC had ND forfeit last round, no points for that yet.

Believe it or not you don't get any points for a forfeit in the Ds!
It goes on points per game.
A forfeit (or washout or heat out) counts as zero points but no game played.

Brilliant. You're 4th going into the last round. You've won 8 of 14 games. 5th have also won 8, but from 15 games and have the bye in the last.
You could play, but why risk losing. Forfeit and guarantee your finals spot!!!

What a disgraceful system that discourages play.

Sorry - I mean it counts as no game for the team receiving the forfeit

A loss for the team that does forfeit

I think anyway. Was a strange sounding rule

Thought they were chasing a current player opening the batting at a rival club?

hmmm maybe an anonymous phone call to Southern's to alert them? ;-)

performance points? that impact on ladder positions.

if there are performance points shouldn't games be played out for the full overs

They should remove performance points for at least 2nd Grade Women.
The minimum players allowed in 2nd Grade is 7.
So instantly your losing 4 wickets (0.8 points ) to teams that have 11.
And it is really development competition so should not have incentive for the best players to have to always bowl or bat.
And they should remove for 1st Grade women. They play limited overs cricket = run rate.
