If it hurt me i would hurt him, after the run of course ;)

At the same time, if someone is running and putting themselves between me and the stumps I reserve the right to try and pin them between the shoulder blades or on the back of the legs... thats the price you pay.

I'll accept that. If you run between them, you have to expect it. If i can't get a run out then im trying to hit them.

In that case i would to just piss him off more...

I've always felt that taking an extra run like that gives the fielding side the right to appeal for handled ball if the batsman picks it up.

Never thought it was appropriate to take the runs like that. Never picked the ball up to give it to a fielder either mind you. Lol.

i do this all the time. I just make sure I check with the bowler first

I hate seeing it. No need for it... Just bat and let the fielders field.

surely if you drop the ball at your feet and its stops next to you on the grass, and there is no intention of a run, then the ball is dead... why not give the fielder the ball? I know some knob in an AMATEUR game somewhere will appeal but common sense should prevail in 99.99% of cases and nothing would get said. Like i said, ive done it plenty of times and never had an issue but each to their own...

Well, the umpire can consider the ball dead if (in his/her opinion) both batsmen and the fielding team regard the ball as dead. So really, so long as nobody is rushing in to do something and neither batsmen are looking for a run the umpire would be within their rights to say the ball was dead at the time and give it not out, despite an appeal.

oh hell yeah , if you put yourself in the line of fire then it is open season.
if you have seen me run then you know I will be running (WALKING FAST) in front of the stumps and will gladly take one on the fat body .

Nope....leave it alone. Maybe tap it in their direction but leave the bloody thing alone. And if I'm fielding and you go to pick it up, I'll tell you to leave it alone too !

Ahhh ok.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of the batsman picking up the ball. MOST of the time I'll say something :D

I wouldn't even tap the ball. The rules might let me, but unless stopping the ball rolling onto the stumps then I'm not touching it at all. I've done my job playing it, someone else's turn to do the next part.

I thought you would take any oppurtunity to hit the ball? ;)
