Last game of the year for some today, good luck to those fighting it out for the last final spots or avoiding those relegation battles.
Heres hoping Smithfield can knock of Angle Vale and survive the drop to grade 2. GO YOU PANTHERS

Why don't blokes want to play higher or test themselves or even just be proud to be named in the "best XI" in an assoc? :?

Because its all well and good when you're winning and getting an opportunity to play on Adelaide Oval. Doesn't happen all the time.

How's the feedback from the last 2 seasons when the association lost a couple of games ? The thought of Sunday cricket is still not appealing to most....particularly those in the twilight of their careers.

I must say though, when I was involved.....in both PDCA and ATCA teams, its been thoroughly enjoyable and getting to know and bond with opposition players is definitely a highlight.

Anyone can argue this and that about best 11s beating others but its all heresay and in the end the 11 blokes representing your comp are the best available. Maybe next year all these "cocky" associations can put their best team on the park and prove how good they really think they are...

OTH all out 102 vs R&C, Leigh Mitchell stepping up to the A grade from the B grade took 5 wickets.

Grade 4
R&C all out 137 on a very large and slow ground. North Pines 3/14 off 17 overs in reply.

Sandy Creek 115 ish

U must have really watched the game , Craigmore made 179 and in reply we were 3 for 126. Well done to the Craigmore lads. But especially well done to our boys and girl, to make the grand final. Not one of our kids go up next year. We will have the same side. We also had 7 first year players this year which is great for our future.

Oh sh!t sorry so i was 10 runs out! Just stating it wasn't as close as we were all anticipating and yes i did watch.....well watched us bat anyway and a little of us bowl and figured that total was not going to be chased down and had somewhere to be so i shot off. No doubt there was plenty of talent on display from BOTH sides.

Yep. We had Atco 7/14 and for no apparent reason it went flat, the intensity and energy vanished and when the foot comes off the pedal it can come back to hurt you. Think they made 136 in the end but i will add that apart from the dropped catches ive never seen a couple of batsmen have so much luck and play and miss so many times in all my life!! Still in a reasonable position to take enough pts out of the game to finish 2nd. Go Westies :ympray: :d

When we do make grade 1 it will be sad not to play you blokes but some teams have to realise they wont win premierships in grade 1 and leave for another association. Don't throw stones in a glass house mate it only leads to broken glass.... ;)

Interesting day at Dwight Reserve!!!

Eastern Park won the toss and chose to bat first and were quickly 3/30 with 2 run outs and some very good bowling. That turned to 7/80 with Craigmore bowling extremly well and some ordinary shots.

Then the number 8 batsmen playing his 2nd A Grade game this year hit 83 and the number 9 hit 50 odd to get us up to a respectable all out 233.

Craigmore then had 24 overs to bat at the end of the day, were 0/15 odd but by the end of play are now 8/82.

The less said about the umpiring the better, i think both teams will say it was the worse display they have ever seen from a PDCA umpire, nice bloke shitehouse umpire

Just like to say Angle Vale's hospitality was exceptional, it was an emotion filled day for us with the passing of Di Newman who has been a valuable commitee member over the years and a personal friend to many of us.
After requesting that we have a minutes silence before the game, Angle Vale participated and wore black armbands too, it was a true reflection on the sportsmanship that we see from time to time in the PDCA and it was a proud moment to be involved in.
As for our effort, it was a final last ditch effort to prove we are capable of playing Grade 1, we wanted to bowl first but that didn't happen, after an 88 run opening partnership, we never looked back, eventually amassing 9/355 with Raed hitting 96, Shane 53, Tuckwell 44, Morris 39, then Gouldy, Taylor and Newman chipping in with 20's.................A great day for the Panthers.
Once again, a big thanks to Angle Vale.

AMEN!! Everytime we have had an umpire this season they have been nothing short of SHOCKING!! The lack of knowledge of the rules amazes me! Don't these blokes have training or updates or something to stay up with the game? :?

I'd rather have the opposition umpire, because at least they know the rules! (Although they never give LBWs  )
