Bit spewing, I was going to put all my cyber coin on a Smitty win, not that we've won it yet though.
I didn't want to get up in a match-fixing scandal though.
Gotta love Angle Vale's drink prices.

Was a very slow day yesterday, 70 overs and 150 runs..theres prob been 1 ground where you get good value for shots and imo its parafield...at 3 for 48 we still have a way to go but overall we played some good cricket..going to be very interesting to see the ladder sat night...i think it is possible for any of the top 3 to finish top or 3rd after yest performances...

It was pretty handy having a contact at every Grade 1 game yesterday.

Eastern Park won the toss and chose to bat first and were quickly 3/30 with 2 run outs and some very good bowling. That turned to 7/80 with Craigmore bowling extremly well and some ordinary shots.

Then the number 8 batsmen playing his 2nd A Grade game this year hit 83 and the number 9 hit 50 odd to get us up to a respectable all out 233.

Craigmore then had 24 overs to bat at the end of the day, were 0/15 odd but by the end of play are now 8/82.

The less said about the umpiring the better, i think both teams will say it was the worse display they have ever seen from a PDCA umpire, nice bloke shitehouse umpire

Yeah i think Madmax could have alot to say about the umpires performance.

worse part is that before the game the umpire is telling you about his friday night and then he puts in a performance like that.

Yeah you expect some line ball calls to perhaps go either way but an absolute shocking call launched us into a mid order collapse. As long as he is consistent throughout... which, seeing he wasn't going to give Boomer out till he walked, looks like he was consistent(ly bad).
At the end of the day doesn't matter how well he umpired, he still gets his pocket money to spend next Friday night.
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

Just a little bit of pressure there for brahma or should i say a sh!tload of pressure? No doubt they are favourite to get the runs this week but 160 is a tricky score to chase mentally.. Fail and they could end up playing westies at westies or rosies at rosies, so that there is enough to build pressure around i would think...no way they would want that after thinking over the last week or two who they would be playing at home in the semi...

Im sure we will be fine catchit, just focus on your own team this week. You guys may only have 50-60 more runs to get but I have seen similar teams lose from good positions, im sure you guys wouldn't want to be playing a final (possibly 2) away. But hey no pressure :D

So true but we have already been thinking that could happen about a month ago, we have abit of work to do this week but not as much as some ;)

I think you are right about one thing, the chance of not hosting a home final at Greenwith would be in the back of their mind if they lose, but are a good enough team to make the runs and IMO should make 160. We haven't lost there this year (through all grades) so would go in with plenty of confidence.

I think the lads will just hold out SW who look like wrapping up the outright very early next week. I imagine SW would need to get to 300 before they declare and bowl for the outright, that way they would get top spot easily should Brahma lose, and even jump you guys.

Might have to take the phone out in the field with me next week, I thought I had no chance of playing this week, my physio told me I'd have to have rocks in my head if I tried playing. I was kind of hoping that we field and I could stash out in the slips, had a little jog in the backyard Saturday morning and thought good to go.
I couldn't miss such a game, I wish I had of had the same enthusiasm earlier on in the season, I'm only there for one reason though..........and it aint talent :)

Westies hit the accelerator in the last hour, scored 100+ IIRC.

160 is a difficult score, neither high or low, seen many finals won with that.

only two or three would be in the best X11

missing sibbick, oz stama and his partner in crime jimmy and a fit feltus would walk into that side also jenner, chad mcinnes (keeper) - (slapper) haha

A little embarassing?? BJ has been the best keeper/batsmen, Scotty Mc, Pete Carman, Davies, Cree have all had decent years. They can only pick who wanted to play and at the end of the day.............they won.
