SHOC batted on the Saturday and rocked up on the Sunday to a freshly mown oval.

PAOC all out for 70.

I heard the pitch was cut and rolled again, which I'm not sure I agree with, but apparently the umpires approved the works.
Hard to believe the umpires would approve the mowing of the outfield though! That's just crazy!

Imagine that happening in a high grade. Do you reckon the Grand Final would have gone ahead?

I can't imagine that happening in any grade to be honest.

If it did, the umpires would have stopped the game then and there. If the umpires didn't, the SHOC captain should have said something and had the game stopped. The fact the game went ahead to me suggests the field wasn't mowed.

I guess we'll never know!

Just relieved they rocked up at all.. We didn't have the pleasure of them doing that in round 6 this season..

Remarkable effort to win the flag.

They lost 1 game for the year didn't they?
Hardly seems remarkable to win the flag if that's the case.

We do know. The grass had been mown.

Remarkable because they forfeited twice.

Was it mown on Friday?

Because the Grass looks fairly short on Saturday.

Outstanding finals series from Penfield in A3, playing against the top 2 sides and taking a combined 20/110 in both the Semi and Grand FInals. Not many gave them a chance either

Yeah, Osborne had a cracking finals campaign, 35 overs, 24 maidens, 9/19. That's simply elite.

Good to see them bounce back from the previous years mauling in finals. Shows character.

Adverts for New coaches at Para Hills and Walkerville.
Bit early for player movements yet.
Heard that Woody South may decline moving up to A1s.

Hearing plenty, not sure how much is true vs rumour.

Payneham very active already.
Farmer has pulled the pin.
Lee told not to return.
Stagg likely to retire.
Have signed Boerema (Pembroke) and offered Hill (SPOC) $8k to captain and open the batting.

Hope Valley have lost both A and B grade captains from last season.

Flinders Park have offered Sam Tyler (PAOC) $10k to captain coach their A3s.

Hill would be mad! Who would want to open the batting on Payneham oval every second game! Especially when the Catera is the alternative! What's goin on a Payneham they lost plenty of players last season now more again this year?

So he should. SACA wasted a fair bit of time on him through junior ranks,. Should probably put something back into Grade cricket/ET at least.

Think you can put a line through the last point. First I've heard of it. Very happy with our current coach who is contracted for next season and currently doing some junior coaching for Surrey in the UK.
