Should be a cracker of a game in the One Day Final on Sunday if all the Redbacks players are playing. Some fair ins for both sides.

Redbacks don't play till late Feb in Perth, so they should all be playing the two day game starting this weekend as well. Makes for some very handy teams, especially Kensy and Uni as you say!

Probably more PDCA or ATCA players get paid than SACA ones....

You could be right about their being more in the PDCA but wouldn't think that too many in the PDCA are. There would be a couple here and there but teams like SW are made up of pretty much all juniors, AV, Virg, NEK, PG all just seem to be local mates.

Potentially Dublin are throwing a bit of coin about.

There'd be quite a few in ATCA, a dozen tops in PDCA (and most of them would be in a coaching role), at a guess the BLCA would be paying a few.

I reckon there would be one player in the BLCA getting coin.
There is heaps in the ATCA and some very ordinary players too, getting good coin.

Trouble with any expansion to a country area is it would require SACA or the expansion club to buy land and build at least 3 ovals if not 4 depending on the amount of teams. Its one thing that never happens with housing developments, they have to put in a bit of open space, a few trees but never an Oval. For example Gawler still has the same amount of Ovals it had when the population was 10k, it would now be 30 k

I beg to differ, the PDCA gets pilfered by the BLCA, these players wouldn't be heading out there for the love of travel.

Would've been rife 10+ years ago, you'd think payments would be based on a coaching role or a random member paying the odd bloke a dollar per run or something.

It still happens, nothing wrong with it, you win games and people stay back in the club to drink piss later on a Saturday night, the club ends up making more coin.

When we were up and running well with 4 competitive mens teams and 2 competitive womens teams we'd still have 30+ people in the club near midnight after a successful day, great times!

There is a brand new sports complex built at Mt Barker, almost finished. Also one being built with the new High School at Aldinga. Would’ve thought these two facilities, at the very least, could be a hub for a Premier Cricket junior club.

You then capture all the Fleurieu, Hills and Murray Bridge regions, with no more than a 40 minute drive to trainings with high quality facilities. The Barossa towns are similar distance to Salisbury.

Build a larger catchment area and filter it through to a high quality 1st Grade competition. No need to have all Premier Cricket clubs playing 1st Grade. Pick the 8 best and then provide opportunity for the other clubs to promote themselves through performance to 1st Grade and poor performance in 1st Grade sees demotion. Encourage the talented kids to play above their age levels with pathways all the way to 2nd Grade at every club.

If voluntary mergers happen, then so be it. An incentive could be automatic inclusion in 1st Grade, however, long term, performance should always dictate if you deserve to be in the top grade.

The more kids with cricket as a serious option, with high quality training facilities and coaches, the more chance of producing a Test cricketer.

Schools and premier cricket don't mix.
Due to risk management I can't roll when there's kids on the oval.
One of the teachers complained that the kids were breathing diesel smoke for 40 minutes.
The roller was too loud, and I could squash a kid.
All arguments are bollocks but he got his way.

Id like to know who you think is getting paid
Diener at Sandy is the one i think.
Maybe South threw a bit of coin at the guys they got after Eastern Park folded?
And Willaston would be paying a coach and maybe couple players.
Gawler Central have in the past
It isnt working for any of them, notice they are all Gawler clubs.

How would a grade club at Mt Barker or in the Barossa impact the local competition? Would think it would be like the Crows/SANFL

Thats why up to 4 ovals would have to be built, no local club is going to give up their traditional ground and play in a paddock somewhere
