I have looked in the Rules, but can't see anything, but I'm pretty sure the old Independent Central Rules were a game could not be called off until 1 hour after start time due to wet weather.

So this is not the case?

Rule 7.3 FORFEITS.
(B) a team that claims a forfeit is entitled to be awarded 4 incentive points plus the greatest number of match points awarded to any team in the same grade in the same round

IF i have my info correct, Fitzies will get 7 points for winning by forfeit, while Para Vista will get 6.4 ish for playing in a drawn match and Lutheran 6.83 for playing in a drawn game. What the. According to Wikipedia, Furore is a town in Italy, but Websters lists a furore as a sudden outburst, so the above points debacle would definetly constitute a furore IF true.

Indeed.....with both other matches being a draw, fitzies get 7 points for the round.....a joke when you get 7 points for a win (forfeit), and other teams get 6 points for a draw.....i guess well just have to move on and take it on the chin....once again. Maybe BB's lawyers can legislate to cover another loop hole in the rules.

yep, thems the rules. nice and clear. even the defination of "match points" is clear.
no complaints from me on this one, although not entirely happy of course! everything went against fitzroy on this occasion, disabling them to get a full quota of points.

there are so many scenarios with forfeits. the onus should be on punishing the team who forfeits....i.e. give them negative points, whilst adequately remunerating the forfeitees. At the very least, first innings point should be given if there is a game played, regardless of result.

the matter will go past crown solictors before being presented at next years AGM.

There is a reminder about the rules on the consumption of alcohol on the website.
