Wow big rumor. I will see what I can dig up

Benny was good mates with Gav Werner and Gav nearly got Benny to the Cocky's as the competitions first ever marque player some years ago.
More recent years have seen him hang out with Puppet Gerhardy and the Camilleri brothers at the Stocky Hotel on Friday and Saturday nights. So I think his ties with Light Pass are closer than any other club.

I can tell you that the "The Duke" has an interview this weekend at Norm11's house over a Sunday roast and a bottle of Grange. Norm has mentioned something about 5 figures. Could be enough to get The Duke over the line and back off the long run.
Will keep you posted :D

haha .... would be an early night if he was hanging out with puppet. Pup hits the wall around the same time as the 6:30 weather report is shown on the telly.
Camo on the other hand is a home owner these days so no cash for a friday night pub assault :)

Confirmed: Ben Burgess to be Captain/Coach of Truro.C.C next year, what a coup for the mountain men.
Unconfirmed reports that Norms roast was a little dry on Sunday and the Duke left without signing,
and then word has it that Benny offered him some Macaroni cheese next week with a view to making him 2nd in charge at Truro.
Will also be offered the chance to bowl all day from 1 end.....bouncer.....bouncer......bouncer......bouncer.
It sure is a mile a minute in the BL&G off-season.

Breaking news......Truro C.C has gone into receivership, it seems the bake-sale they held to raise the funds
to secure the services of Benny only raised $130 and fell some $19,870 short of his asking price.
Word has it that Benny will not be returning the $200 signing fee he received and is believed to be
inquiring if Morgan C.C are in the market for a Captain/Coach.
The Duke was last seen frantically re-entering Norm's number into his mobile.

The roast was very tender, with a fresh serve of veggies.
Finished off with strawberries and cream for dessert.
Infact, I think the interview went as well as the roast. Norm's parting words were "dont ring me, i'll ring you"
Standing by the phone as we speak Norm.

Gilbert Valley hot on the heels of an sa outbacks fast bowler to join his good friend james vandy, currently playing footy up here, rumored to be bringing a former high grade district cricketer with him, a wicket keeper i believe, apparently a few guys werent to impressed with rocky huttons attempts with the gloves. dropping norm11 in the early overs last year probably didnt help the cause!!! :D

Who are the candidates to take over as the Association president for season 2010-2011?
When is the BLCA AGM as this could be a interesting AGM to attend?
