Club Subs 09/10

Postby Tight_Lines » Fri Aug 28, 2009 1:37 pm

Just wondering what other clubs charge for subs.

Im from Sheidow Park and we charge $110 for the season $100 before round 1 last year came with a free playing shirt this year singlet or shorts. That is ball money included too.

Big differences in the amount per season. What costs are associated with these fees? Afiliation fees with various associations, insurance? Why is there such a vast difference?

We have 6 other clubs within 4 kilometres of us, we need to keep our costs low to keep players coming, we also have no need to make money, as long as we don't run at a loss we are happy, we don't pay players and have good support in fund-raising to keep our costs low.

It would depend a lot on the association the clubs are in and the costs involved in that. For example it would be much more costly to maintain Turf wickets than hard wickets. Umpire costs would be higher for clubs who have all their sides umpired as well compared to clubs that would only have their A's or maybe B's umpired if at all. Also some clubs pay players/coaches and this cost needs to be covered somehow.

We are $115 with a $30 reduction if you contribute with our major fundraiser phonebook deliveries. We also charge $5 per game for ball/umpire fees.

We have changed ours a bit this year. Ours is now $5 per player per week for subs. On top of that we also pay the umpires $4 and $1 goes into an end of year drink fund.... the boys also started up a punting club each week which is another $5 but optional....
