Who are the hot favourites?
Biggest underdog?
Flops?

Any tips for breakout seasons for a future Redback?

I'd say Adelaide Uni are looking the goods. Have assembled a very strong squad. Adelaide the same.

With underdog I'd go with East Torrens. New coach has plenty of positive buzz about him and some good pick ups for them.

Tom and Corey Kelly are the best two young cricketers I've seen coming through. Reckon they are our next 'home grown' big things. Maybe Jacob Dickman as a player outside the Redbacks squad who could make an impact this season.

Kensi and TTG still look very strong. Uni with their recruits look good
I agree with East Torrens - new coach can be refreshing.
On paper, it looks like a cracking game at Woodville this weekend.

Kensie, Adl Uni final for mine both have very strong 2nd grades this week so when the redbacks and co come knocking no reason why they still cant be very competative.

Spencer Johnson has had a terrible run of luck. Hope it's not too serious
Bays down a top order bat for first part of the season
Tom Plant? Think that's the whole season haha :D

Who are you referring to? I see Jake Winter isn't playing Redbacks League. Josh Hoffman is though which is great
Jake Winter had hip operation I heard, could potentially miss the season?
Hip operation at end of the month. Hearing 12 week recovery.

Ouch... Ben Ellis' last 4 overs went 15, 23, 17, 14.

4 overs 0/69

Had 5 overs for 17 until that point!

Notice on Premiership Tables, have given bonus points, etc??

Had not heard about any changes regarding this? Always been 20 points for win.

Anyone in the know aware if this is an error or has been a change for this season?

Round 2
Southern District vs Northern Districts - a much needed first up win for someone here. Southern's tweakers to get it done I think.

Tea Tree Gully vs Glenelg - heavyweight clash! No Plant, no Winter I'll go TTG. Nice to see Isaac Higgins killing it at the Under 17 national carnival. Should play 1st Grade cricket this season.

West Torrens vs Kensington - Ferguson and Drew the keys for the Eagles.

Prospect vs Woodville - already looking like a long season for the Pirates. Their D grade hung on for a one run win to prevent a whitewash against Port Adelaide in Round 1.

Adelaide vs Port Adelaide - Game of the round! Buffalos looking a dangerous unit. Port solid in this format though maybe bowling a little thin? Home team winners here I think, just.

University vs Sturt - one of these teams will go zip and two. Sturt need big runs from Davis.

I did see Higgins has done very well at the 17s carnival - there's no reason why he shouldn't press for A grade. Unfortunately the team performance looks to have been poor - they have only won 1 game and got done by NT yesterday.
I think Sturt would be happy to not have to front up against Weatherald and Winter - hard to come back from 0-2 for whichever team drops this one.
Gullies and Kensington looking the goods again this year. Adelaide look good although I wonder if Sturt had got through Valente and Page early on how the rest of the batting would have gone?

Massive win for the Seahorses at Pertaringa. No Plant, no Winter... no worries!

Liam Scott must be a bit of a jet. Pretty sure he's only 18. Ton here and ton for Redbacks League.

Buffalos and Kensington still ticking along

Round 3

Sturt (0-2) vs East Torrens (1-0) - unfamiliar territory for the Blues who will be desperate for a win. I see Hanno Jacobs (good young quick) didn't bowl on the weekend. Hopefully not injured. Reds had a crushing win first up but that was with Lehmann who won't be there. They should get back Zampa though.

Northern District (0-2) vs West Torrens (0-2) - Surely the Eagles get on the board here? Ferguson and possibly Richardson playing. Can't go 0-3.

Woodville (2-0) vs Adelaide (2-0) - match of the round! Two undefeated teams. Heard a whisper Valente is in Shield squad though. Big loss and balances Andrews not being there. Adelaide's bowling the difference here I think.

Port Adelaide (1-1) vs University (1-1) - must win game. Port got smacked by Adelaide last week, Uni crushed Sturt. You'd think Uni has too much talent but Port has some dangerous players. Benton didn't bowl last week though and Carter played 2nds. Bowling looks a little thin.

Glenelg (1-0) vs Southern District (1-1) - ominous start for the Bays last week. Pudney back. New recruit Liam Scott looks the goods.

Kensington (2-0) vs Prospect (0-2) - tough ask for the Pirates but the season will slip away fast if they don't get on the board soon.

TTG (1-1) - bye. Uncharacteristic loss to sleep on for a week.

WT & Sturt seem to be better sides than 0-2 would suggest. Not sure what's happened with either of them - maybe some poor batting has let Sturt down as opposed to good bowling from the others? They appear a very young side this year? For WT - copped Woodville at their strongest and then hard to defend on Henley if pitch is as flat as it was last year, and Kensi are a good side.
Glenelg seem strong however interesting if both openers miss out. Still should be too strong for SD.
Hard to get a read on Adelaide yet as only 4 batters have batted. Bowling looks solid though.
Kensington will destroy Prospect and Port v Uni could go either way, although Uni batting looks a bit better.

Might be some juicy decks around the place Saturday!

Not much grass at this time of year but two days of rain and not a heap of sunshine Thursday and Friday could leave pitches a bit under-prepared
