Would that stem from the old Port vs Norwood rivalry from the football?

Anyway, looks like all 1st Grade games have started today, whether any get through to a result, who knows? An afternoon of Duckworth-Lewis potentially coming up!

I'd say most if not all will be abandoned

Yes, all games abandoned in the end.

Rumour is that Glenelg want to replay the round citing the fact that players have missed enough cricket over the past two years. I wonder if the fact that they are playing Prospect has anything to do with it?

Completely abandoned rounds can get played again can't they?

Vaguely recall that happening in the past

I think the proposal is to get it raised at the next grade cricket committee meeting where clubs are voting on the structure of the fixtures for the rest of the season. Makes sense given the whole round was abandoned and they've just cut the length of the season down so they have a spare weekend doesn't it?

What was the whole idea of having Feb 5th weekend off anyway

To me best way play of playing 2 day cricket is playing Saturday and Sunday game on the one weekend

Glenelg might have a case to replay the round since no one got result if someone did there though then that idea goes out the door

Surely you can’t replay the round if all the matches got a start. If they’re going to replay the abandoned games, they should make a time to replay the ND vs WT game as well.

I am told the manager of premier cricket in SA reports to a position within CA - alarms bells are ringing if correct.

Would have been washed out yesterday again anyway :D (players don't want to play Sunday games!).

Still have the appeal to hear yet, hopefully common sense applies to that tribunal without Busbridge involved.

Might be a blessing with the one day Semi's on Sunday - would have finished 2nd, home final against Bays. We do have excellent record against them since our GF win few years ago, won all one day games against them. However, chuck in Carey, Scott, McSweeney and maybe Doggett, vs Drew, Johnson, Gibson, Neilson and maybe Richo, makes it tight. Kensy with Ross, Worrall, Pope and Sturt just with Kelly twins, Sturt maybe best option, although all be tough.

Two day comp be nice to get extra 10 points we deserve just to help get home final, have the Bye still but play, 11th, 12th and 13th teams so destiny still in own hands to a degree.

West Torrens being scared of plucky little Northern’s is one of the funnier things to come out of this season.

Wow. Might cost them a finals spot in the end. Bizarre decision.

And if he is involved I reckon you may have a strong case for a further appeal as you can easily argue a conflict of interest (depending on the outcome)? The easiest thing would be for Bus to just remove himself from the process then it avoids even a perception of a conflict.

Think the option Aerie was to play Sunday, 23rd, which would have been wash out again. The players/coaches/club all agree Northerns do not deserve that opportunity and any fair appeals process will go in WT favour. If not, they win their last three games against bottom teams and make finals, lose one and don’t deserve to anyway.

Great first post Salad  Nobody has been scared of Northerns for 25 years, and won’t be for the next 25 years. Basket case of a club! Sometimes you have to live by your principals.

A bloke at the game on the weekend said that the points for the replayed game would have counted for the one day competition only so that changes things, why would a club reward another team who couldn't be bothered covering the wickets when it was originally programmed when they are going to play in the finals of the one day competition anyway, from a legal viewpoint I don't know where SACA would stand if they were challenged on the decision where the match conditions have been changed at a whim and clubs have been prevented from receiving points for the premiership table on the two day competition.
