If you're in State junior squads (and Aussie junior squads!) then surely your club has had a decent impact on you? Certainly not holding you back.

Top 3-4 this summer would give them a fair run for their money.

It all comes down to this

185 Kensington
180 Tea Tree Gully
145 Adelaide
140 Glenelg
140 University
130 Sturt

Barring outrights...

If Adelaide win they're safe. Lose and one of Sturt & Uni will go ahead of them. Plus Glenelg if they win.

Glenelg win they're in. Lose and Sturt or Uni will kick them out.

The winner of Sturt v Uni needs one of Adelaide/Glenelg to lose

Buffalos playing a bogey side in Port......they seem to struggle against these guys and Prospect that hurts their ladder position.

Yep. I don't think there's a temperature cutoff per se but I'd be surprised if 3rd grade, 4th grade and juniors play this weekend.

Assuming with the forecast temperature of 40 that the 3's and 4's would be non starters.
Would the 2's get cancelled if still 40 on Saturday? 1's still play is my understanding unless it hits 42.

Maybe youth is no longer the answer? Maybe it's time guys like Jake Brown were given another crack.. Brad Davis.. maybe Jake Winter & Kelvin Smith back in, maybe even Daniel Drew? Ben Pengelley close to a game?

It should open the "why do we prepare roads at Grade cricket" debate!!

So you give Jake Winter or Kelvin Smith a go this weekend at the WACA, they come off big scores on say Woodville Oval, that literally gives the bowlers nothing, the Kookaburra balls they use in 1st Grade since they changed a couple of years ago stop swinging after 8-10 overs, and then expect them to cope on a fast bouncy pitch with a Dukes ball. Absolutely crazy!!

Why aren't they using Dukes in 1st Grade?

Good question, don't know.

Heard Tom Plant did stats on runs scored since they changed to these Kookaburra balls two seasons ago and total runs scored across 1st Grade is up 25%. That is massive increase. Combined with the lifeless pitches prepared which don't help.

Funny how when Trent Kelly prepared the wicket at Henley it was always full of bounce and movement, now getting close to Woodville Oval standard!!

Trent's business still does it, like many ovals including Woodville, but he is now 2nd in charge at SACA and looks after Park 25 ovals and KR oval, so basically just oversees them now. Left in his staff's control.
