The cancellation of the final Sheffield Shield round will see a number of big names return for the SACA Premier Cricket finals, which will be played as scheduled despite the coronavirus outbreak.

Premier Cricket manager Steve Busbridge said at this stage SACA had no intention of abandoning the finals in any grade – seniors men’s and women’s, or juniors.

“Obviously with the coronavirus situation things can change, but at this stage it’s all systems go,’’ he said.

“I’m sure we’ll have continual discussions as the week progresses and keep up to date with medical requirements, but we’re expecting the finals to go ahead as scheduled.’’

Putting the health and safety of all participants, volunteers and the wider community first, and in line with the decisions made for elite cricket, Cricket Australia has recommended that all Premier and Community Cricket competitions cancel all cricket activity for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

Your local State or Territory Association is communicating directly with its clubs, associations, school competitions and indoor centres with more detailed advice.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

So they way I read it, Kensington will be declared winners of 1st, 2nd & 4th grade, with Uni winners of 3rd grade?
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

But one team had to win outright to get top spot, lose and they just get an away final, so they had nothing to lose by preparing a green top. Only going by what a few coaches said, they think its a disgrace, which is true.

No surprise, but Bradman Medal officially called off as well.

Be weird for the winner just getting a phone call like the old days telling him he won :D

Phantom poll has Sam Kerber to win, from Ben Pengelly and Cameron Valente.

Geez Uni's heavy recruiting again doesn't get them a 1st Grade 2 day premiership :D
Might have to invest in those players they have recruited rather than using the PC clubs for their junior development program next season

Spot on - for all of their recruiting and poaching of players over the years, they still haven't really won much!

The guy spewing the most is Tom Plant - getting good coin there with bonuses for Premierships, and missed out on $5k bonus if they won the Club Championships, pipped by Kensy in last round due to couple of outrights!! Poor guy!

Might explain why the Ocean Pony's coaching staff were receiving calls during round 12 knowing they had a bye in round 13

Absolutely up there - probably him and Valente (might pinch votes off each other).
Bosisto and S Kerber probably around the mark as well - again may be an issue with them pinching votes off each other?

Done Phantom draw which shows it being a very high polling affair.

Currently had (with 3 rounds to go, and Uni, Northerns and Adelaide all with the Bye!):

Valente 34
S.Kerber 30
B. Pengelly 29
Cosgrove 23
Bosisto 22

All of them have the Bye to come. Would love to see Valente win, best player in the Grade comp by a mile, and would be entertaining speech!!

Pretty spot on predictions six weeks ago!!

Valente 40
Kerber 38
Pengelly 37
Barrett 27
Drew 25

Very high scoring, to think two years ago Conor McInerney and Kelvin Smith tied with 22 votes!!

Shame the night could not be held as would have been a very funny speech!!

Brooke Harris won the Rolton from West Torrens Tahlia McGrath.

Would the Peckers be taking a bit of a financial hit due to no SANFL being played at Oval Ave this year? In their budget planning they would have factored in a significant amount from bar takings etc in the footy season which will now not be occurring.

Yeah you're probably right. Prospect too. Think they have a similar set up on match days.

What would grade cricket do if football starts in August or something and wants to push their season back into November?

Might be a moot point

Cant see cricket being played till January at best, potentially the whole season may be lost.

If we do play, may be a shortened one day or 20/20 comp at best.

Going to be a tough winter, which has to carry on into summer unfortunately.
