Shows money not everything, and what a state Prospect must be in if the captain abandons the ship a third of the way into the season.

Thanks Ferrett, the "R" and the "D" are so close together on the keyboard, don't know how that happens all the time!

Pretty ordinary cheap shot really.

Might not be the only one gone from Prospect by Christmas either.

What's happening with Prospect? It's a shame as they're one of the traditional clubs who in the past have had arguably some of the game's greatest players (Sobers, Barry Richards). Is it the coaching or are there other much deeper issues?

Can't recall anyone from Prospect posting on here

Must be hard to attract/retain players when there hasn't been much onfield success for a while. Clubs get stuck in a rut and it's hard to get out. Their juniors seem to have been pretty good the last few years though

They won one back in the early 2000s. A 14/15 year old Callum Ferguson was in the team I think?

That flag though crippled them. A bunch of players took the opportunity to finish up on a high - headed out to Payneham, Pooraka, Woodville Rechabite.

Others saw them leave and figured "Well, if they're not playing then neither am I..." and left as well.

Things slowly spiralled down and have never really recovered

Possibly 6 out of 7 bottom finishes in 1st grade in the last 7 seasons might be a clue Prospect are gone .. if you go back further it gets even worse for them .... Redbacks win though they have only finished bottom 4 out of the last 7 years .. 1 shield in 37 seasons ..... keep blaming grade cricket though it excuses SACA and everyone in that culture from any responsibility .. After their last attempt to improve things by the circus that tried to get rid of West Torrens the response has been to put their head in the sand as an organisation. Yes .. we definitely need 8 teams !! .. .. Redbacks league is not the answer so rather than get angry at the clubs come up with a different strategy to get it done .....

We have too many grades for a start .. A and B grade and an Under 19(kids coming up from U15 program) would surely stop the money being spread so thin and enable the clubs to focus more on developing talent aiming to play first grade

Run an U 15 comp and one Under 12/13 program and the kids for that can come from the community clubs .. they have that many pathway programs for U12 U14 U16 u17 at the moment they don't know if they are Arthur or Martha ! In my view that is speading everything too thin at a critical point in young players development .

A complete restructure at first grade into 2 divisions would give the opportunity for a club like Prospect who are completely gone to still maintain their history and not disappear off the face of the earth ? That would seem to me the most feasible/acceptable option given the history of clubs.

Would it be possible to do what other sports do and employ high end people to come in and do the review job ... looking at the change to Head's technique since he joined the Australian set up surely they have now worked out that the simplistic way our young batsman were expected to bat is completely flawed as a starter .... before you go through all the other cultural issues in their HP program!!

Alot of talk about Prospect..

Looking likely to knock off TTG after what must have been a Brennan masterclass against a flat TTG bowling lineup.

Brennan is a talent and must have batted well.
10 innings this year for 4 ducks and 7 scores under 10.
Bit of an issue.
Nice lad but if Brice is playing A grade out there and batting in the top 5 then Prospect are in all sorts of strife.

You make some sense but the clubs in district cricket won't downsize their own operations.
They all know the problem with SA cricket and how terrible it is but it is the coin the stops any progress.
None of them want their clubs to fade into the past, funny thing is if you got rid of a couple of sides it would cost less money to run your club.
Your club will remain, at this rate clubs will disappear.
But hey, what would i know.
