With all due respect, think anyone could have coached Kensy to Finals this year, and many others to the Premiership. They had a gun team who could basically coach themselves with Brown, Opie, Ross etc out there.

Obviously Russell Thompson is an excellent coach, but getting the Kensy gig a few years ago when Ben Johnswood stepped aside was like winning the lottery for any coach, such a strong successful club.

Would love to see him take on a Prospect or Southerns type club and then see if he is an absolute guru coach or not!!

Is it correct that Russell Thompson was coach of the State U17s or U19s one year, won the national championship... then wasn't reappointed the next season?!

Vaguely recall hearing that somewhere

I’m sure being able to manage all those players and keep them performing in the same team isn’t overly easy.

They finished in the bottom half of the ladder the year before he took over.

Nah that's a rubbish call. Taking over a decent side is a bonus and that's where it ends. Still a lot of work goes in to the role and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.

Any word on how they're going to fixture the 23/24 season?

Still an 8 team Div 1 set up and 6 team Div 2 set up with State U19's? If a club wants to select their State U19 player in 1st Grade, do they play with their club or the State team? Was it top 2 from Div 2 get promoted and bottom 2 from Div 1 get relegated for the season after? Does the 50-over comp and 20-over comp include every club plus the State U19 team and only the 2-day comp get split?

Pengelly's to the Bay seems to happen every year

The Wharfie$$ (Pt A) trying to recruit Tom Andrews, would McInerney from Woodville follow one of his best mates?

Great appointment by Sturt.

He changed the culture of the whole club at West Torrens in the early years of the move to Henley and left a very strong legacy. Much loved and respected at the Eagles.

Going full circle now back at Sturt and will have them back in Div 1 with a harder edge.

What a shame that would be. Dont blame him but just sad that he would feel he would have to leave to progress his career.

It is crazy stuff - where they get the money??? Nearly unbeatable with Valente and Andrews, and Carder be with them all year for his last year at Redbacks. Certain flag if don't choke in Semi Final again
