After seeing the Warner & Smith return to grade cricket over the weekend got me wondering - could CA ever explore a setup that would revert cricket back to similar what it was many moons ago?

Move the ODD stuff on the back of SS matches, and start the SS season bit later, perhaps start grade cricket a little earlier (and finish earlier), and have state cricketers available to play grade cricket a little bit more at the start of a season?

Problem in SA is all Grade Grounds share with a winter tenant. Lease change over is October 1. Other states either have exclusive cricket or a different change over date for their winter sports.

Looks like Kensies have picked up a young batting allrounder from Darwin
Hearing Williams from Southern's going to play Section 3 hard wicket, if true

Will Redbacks players be "allowed" to play, may make a huge difference to a few matches!

They would have been playing their Semi on Saturday if they won last night, so really no excuse for SACA to not allow them to play, but you watch them say they are preparing for Shield game on Oct 16 now!

And weaken the Grade cricket standard even more, oh well, we have played in two of the past three finals but on the flip side we've won six of the last nine spoons.

I'd think they are a 99% chance of playing, SACA will want them having an additional hit out unless they are a bowler carrying a niggle.

Unless they have reported injuries from last night they should be playing, still 12 days away until the first round of the shield.

Sport science will probably restrict the bowlers allowed to play or those that do will be batsmen only

Heard Ferg and Richo not able to play for us, no surprise there!

Hearing Carey and Sayers playing for Bays, Cooper for Port, and the three Woodville blokes also.

Lehmann not playing either.

Not heard about the others yet.

Any TTG people on here know if the 14 Reds that play out of GG High use the turf or hard wicket oval?

Fixture says Main Oval.....I would assume the number 1 oval would be turf.

Yeah, same here but sceptical, I have to send my lad with someone else so I better cover all bases, funny thing is that he has spikes but no white shoes, a quick trip to Sportspower tomorrow morning.

It's the hard wicket I'm pretty sure and I've been told that it's average (uneven run up, ditches, sand around the pitch)
