Ladder after Round 8

130 Adelaide *
120 East Torrens
120 University *
100 Kensington *

85 Tea Tree Gully
85 Southern District
80 Woodville
65 Glenelg
50 Northern Districts *
40 Sturt
40 Port Adelaide
25 West Torrens
20 Prospect *

* bye still to come

Round 9 matches

West Torrens vs Adelaide - Buffs to march on. Is Josh Pengelley injured?
Southern District vs University - we'll find out if the Stingrays are genuine contenders here
Tea Tree Gully vs East Torrens - the top four race will remain interesting if TTG can get up.
Glenelg vs Sturt - Last chance for the Bays
Northern Districts vs Port Adelaide - Stuart Coles new skipper and I see he brought up the winning runs today with a six. Magpies two in a row?
Kensington vs Woodville - 8 point game for the Peckers. Can blow the race for 4th spot wide open.
Prospect bye

Don't think J.Pengelley has been injured (well...The story I have been told is he isn't). Just not bowling very well. I think he has only taken 10 wickets this season.

20/20 Cup Semis on Sunday with Final that afternoon to decide our State rep in National Carnival:

Adelaide Uni vs TTG
Sturt vs East Torrens

With final one day Cup match on Saturday, and the Futures 20/20 week in Adelaide starting on Monday, be interesting if any restrictions are placed on bowlers that may affect some teams?

Well the top four all won today so I imagine that the one day ladder remains the same. One day semi finals next Sunday:

Adelaide (1st) vs East Torrens (4th) at Glandore
Kensington (2nd ) vs University (3rd) at Parkinson

It's the same top four in the two day competition.

150 Adelaide*
140 East Torrens
140 University*
120 Kensington*

85 Tea Tree Gully
85 Southern District
95 Glenelg
80 Woodville
70 Northern Districts*
40 Sturt
40 Port
25 West Torrens
20 Prospect

Bit of a gap opening up between 4th and the rest. Will anyone outside the current four sneak in?

Adelaide Uni the T20 champions, played the season undefeated. Well done

Does anyone who was at the semi final this morning know why the Uni v TTG game was called off early?

Surely there was no more than half hour of rain today, on SA's premier ground.. unfortunate for TTG as looking at the score they were well on track to chase the runs.

Well done to Uni, deserved to win 20/20 comp this year. Was bonus having Nick Winter for all games, very hard to score against at this level.

Was fairly heavy rain for a while. Fairly comical scenes, umpires called off Uni/TTG game and awarded result on D/L to Uni. For some reason umpires at the other game waited over 30 mins more till after 2pm to call it off. Was way over time by the rules, meant GF started 30 mins late. Was very strange.

Think Uni and ET were going to win anyway so fair result. Rain was predicted and obvious on the radar, so TTG needed to be ahead of the run rate just in case.

Top four set for two day comp I reckon.

With the one day comp, with Adelaide only just getting up over WT and Kensy thumping Woodville, could Kensy move to top and Adelaide 2nd, thus changing the semi final combinations??

J Pengelley took break from cricket due to mental health issues. Heard yesterday at game reality has set in that not going to "make it" at cricket and had put all eggs in one basket (as has brother) and struggling with this. And copping lots from opposition players who all rate him the most disliked player in the comp. Gives out heaps for someone who has achieved nothing yet but cant take it. Could not even bring himself to bowl yesterday, but Valente wanted him to play, very strange.

Not the first 19/20 year old to walk away from the game for a period of time after having been in the HP set up for a number of years.

Seems to be that those club that have recruited during the off season are in the top four! or are they now seeing the benefits of local juniors players coming through.

I had a bit of a laugh with this myself.

Pretty sure the playing conditions/by laws allow an extra 30 minutes for a late start on a double header day. Semi/Grand Final obviously being a double header. So once they start on time you can't gain time later on. The umpires for the Sturt semi final clearly didn't read that correctly.

Had a back injury through winter so was slightly underdone at the start of the season. Should be right now though

Going from a good, fast bouncy wicket to one of the flattest pitches in the competition was probably an error though

Just watched him bowl at the futures league game, looked like he was bowling quick

Round 10
Adelaide v Prospect - Buffalos already in top spot and flying
University v West Torrens - Uni sailing along, need a win here for top two chances
East Torrens v Southern District - must win game for the Stingrays if they're to play finals. Drop this and the gap is too great.
Sturt v Tea Tree Gully - huge game for TTG who are 5th
Port Adelaide v Glenelg - Glenelg can stay in touch with the four with a win here
Woodville v Northern Districts - same with Woodville. A win keeps their mathematical chances alive
Kensington BYE - will be barracking hard for draws across the board

One Day Semi Finals
Adelaide vs East Torrens at Glandore
Kensington vs University at Parkinson

Pretty evenly matched. Tough to pick

Well, Adelaide well on target for outright points
Uni made 280 odd vs West Torrens
ET well in control vs Southerns
Sturt have beaten TTG within the day
Glenelg vs Port delicately poised though the Magpies lost a few on stumps
Jets getting a big score at Woodville

ET be happy, looks like Lehmann out for CA X1 game!

Uni got first flag in 1st Grade in any comp for about 23 years in 20/20, might get another one this week.

Lets hope they dont do the triple :D

Think there is some truth to that Hound!! We had the cricket gods with us that season with SACA trying to get rid of us, had every bit of luck possible, nothing went wrong at all!

Last couple of years have had no luck whatsoever, from injuries, star recruits going home with injury or mental health issues, Spencer Johnson being injury prone and never getting on the park, etc.

Still, even if we have next few years down the bottom, is worth it having had that season, would never trade it for anything!

Yes a terrible run with injuries recently E2014 and losing 900 runs hasn't helped.
At least you have been blooding your young guys which in turn will provide a move up the ladder in future seasons and sustained success, without hurting the hip pocket
