Well with the AGM approaching i thought i would throw out some ideas for the up coming season:

A Grade: 8 Team Comp, Stirling drop back to B Grade. Then the A Grade season is a combination of one dayers around Xmas and the New Year and 3 two Dayers at the start of the season and 4 at the end before finals. This would make for a fairer comp and take the element of luck at of the draw re heat outs and rain. Badluck Mylor missed your chance unless Happy Valley want to drop down.

Heat Rule: A Grade should play regardless. They have neutral umpires etc and the majority of players take there cricket seriously enough to look after themselves. All they have to do is take more drinks breaks. Understand the lower grades are played for fun and agree that they should have the day but for the A Grade not to play isnt right.

Discuss......

Agree on the heat rule

Hearing rumours about Mylor possibly wanting to defect to A&EH or even merge with Echunga to form one very strong club.
Personally don't think either will happen but more than one person from each club has mentioned this to me in the last week.

Mylor would be very competitve in AEH, no need to merge. But alot of the current B graders do want to change comps, esp the ones involved at Echunga FC.

Will be tough for them to convince the rest of the club

Mylor would not be 'very competetive' in A&EH.

If Mylor contemplate a merger with Echunga and also a move from the Adelaide Hill Assoc I will be asking for a transfer to Aldgate.

I can tell you now Steadman, Gaunt, Groom will move or stop playing rather than playing in a inferior association.

In other Mylor news apparently SId and Groomy are stepping away from the club leadership. That is their President and Club Sec.

Maybe the merger and move is an option for them with the current leadership out of the way.

So if Mylor is to stay then an A Grade is a must. Echunga would be better off moving to the Adelaide Hills comp.

NEWS JUST IN

IF MYLOR AND ECHUNGA CRICKET CLUBS ARE TO MERGE THEN THE NEW NAME WOULD BE

MECCA

M - MYLOR
EC - ECHUNGA
C - CRICKET
A - ASSOCIATION

MIND YOU THE MERGER WOULD BE LIKE PORT ADELAIDE MAGPIES AND NORWOOD MERGING.

ALTERNATIVES COULD BE

BIGGS FLAT CRICKET CLUB

COLOURS BLACK WHITE RED AND BLUE

Groom, doesn't he play C grade or D grade -so the "inferior" comment would be irrelevant for him i would think. Also Steadman and Gaunt are quiet politically correct " fence sitters" who would never make such bold and brash statements or degrade an entire association with such statements.
One more thing didn't both Steadman and Gaunt move to a "inferior Association" by coming up from District Cricket to the Hills and B grade at that.

People always throw ideas up in the air , then others respond.

I would suggest if you don't want your club moving or merging, put an arguement forward as to the benefits of staying in the Hills as Mylor. Rather than threatening to leave and attaching club champions like Gaunt and Steadman to that threat.

Sounds like interesting times and decisions to be made at Mylor.

Be interested to see what happens with Steadman and Gaunt seeing as it was rumoured that they were both unhappy with player behaviour during celebrations of last years flag. Pair that with apparent threats to leave will be interesting to see if they roll up for another season. Perhaps they will finish up or even consider a move to another club? Would imagine other clubs would have an opening in their B grade for them as that seems to be their idea of a Saturday afternoon.

My money is on them staying put though. The boys at mylor seem pretty tight on the whole. Maybe a bit of work for warby to do in the coming weeks.

Mylor will not leave the hills comp, nor will they merge with Echunga.

Steadman is an old, overweight man who will not go anywhere. I hear Gaunt has a new missus that brings him lots of 'Joy', but even she will not separate him from Steadman. They will both stay, and Mylor will probably win another flag.
