I think its time that our comp goes by the Noarlunga forecast. Since the 21st of December we have had 2 days of cricket and this Saturday could be another 40 degree day.

Which forecast do you work with tazz ? We used to work on Noarlunga but now it is Victor Harbors in the GSCA.

Adelaide forecast. "Apparently" Flagstaff Hill don't want it based on the Noarlunga forecast because they're not in the Noarlunga area

There is always one ... Surely Noarlunga makes more sense , given the majority of Clubs are in the area. Not good continually missing games

Noarlunga does make more sense. A 40C day in Morphettvale wouldnt feel too different to Flagstaff Hill. Kangarilla can feel a bit hotter though.
Still the heat fluctuation wouldnt be as bad as say Victor to McLarens. Heard the A's was postponed there last Saturday due to heat yet all the other A grade games were played.

Yeah you are right in temp difference from VH to MV , not sure what went on with the MV and EB game , I think a decision can be made on the day with the captains and the umpire , no different to rain I guess. Also with both teams sitting 1and 2 points aren't an issue so the decision would have been made easier. Not certain if it is right though.

B Grade grand final. Port Noarlunga def Flagstaff Hill.
C Grade grand final. Noarlunga def Armidayysdcbysdcgv North.

A Grade grand final is Flagstaff Hill v Noarlunga.
Noarlunga would be favourites but Flagstaff Hill has won the last few finals games between the 2 sides including last seasons grand final.
My prediction is Noarlunga by 60 runs or 4 wickets

well my prediction was a little off. Congrats to Flaggies winning back to back flags.

Hope Porties don't abuse me for congratulating another club on their Premiership success.

So Pt Noarlunga and Morphett Vale have asked ASCA formally for entry into ASCA from next season.

Does this spell the end for the SCA?

So Porties and Morphies to Adelaide & Suburban. You would think Seaford and Ahmadiyya will apply there too. Noarlunga to GSCA or Adelaide & Suburban, leaving Flaggies and Kangies to Hills?

It is sad that a very good league 20 years ago is now gone.

Great memories of playing hard (and partying harder) in the Meyer Shield when Southern took about half a dozen shields in about 8 years through the 90s.

A pity it is no more....

Don't know a lot about Adelaide and Suburban Tigerpie. Only club North of Town is North Haven. There would be more teams in the Southern area playing Adelaide and Suburban than SCA.
Sheidow Park, Cove, ICC Sharks, Woodcroft, Southern.

Why would you want to pay Double the fees and spend half your season out the otherside of town? Turf is a great comp but once you are over the travel and have a family Adelaide and Suburban is a lot better option as well as having Two Day Grades that play 60 overs is a lot more attractive to the older players that don't want to play slap and tickle One Day Cricket.

Yeah i understand travel is a bugger, but we car pool and get to play on the best grounds and wickets in adelaide.
Yes the fees are steepish...we are about the cheapest, but as i said we get to play on some excellent grounds and wickets, and some bad ones too dont get me wrong.
But its very satisfying to make big runs on a turf deck because you really have to work hard on some wickets for your runs. Its a bit more challenging.
certainly glad we went to turf because as sad as it is the writing was on the board 10 years ago that sca was struggling.
Had some great games in sca and it is sad the way its panned out

I am lead to believe it was voted on by all Clubs that the SCA Be kept as a Junior Association and that the Seniors would go there own way.

It sounds as if Port Noarlunga & Morphett Vale to Adelaide & Suburban, Kangarilla & Flaggies to Hills and Noarlunga & Seaford to Great Southern.

I thought Flaggies might of gone to Adelaide & Suburban as they already have neighbours in Coro Ramblers, Coromandel, Belair and a number of clubs playing within the vicinity of Marion Rd which would be straight down Flagstaff Hill Rd. I guess maybe the one road trip to North Haven may not have excited them.

Very sad that a once great competition is now no more.
Have very fond memories of winning premierships and playing with and against some great cricketers and blokes.
I'm happy they have kept the junior comp though as the u13's is very successful.

I would suggest give it a season of two and the juniors will join South Central or the Associations the clubs have moved to.

Flaggies had already moved to South Central as they preferred the Sunday Morning time slots better.

It was one of those things that the writing has been on the wall since Reynella elected to go to a Higher Level with Adelaide Turf, then Cove moved to Adelaide & Suburban. Have not attracted any Clubs to comp so it was only a matter of time before clubs or the Association Folded and the Clubs realised this and jumped before they sank which is fair enough.
