Just wondering if anyone has had a go at importing data from previous seasons into mycricket.
Our club is looking into doing it at the moment and were just wondering how much effort is involved.

Brahma Lodge did theirs into the PDCA one back to 67/68. Obviously a fair bit must go into it, adding players long departed, some passed away and then inputting hundreds of games, but not insurmountable.

Are Salisbury West attempting to add theirs?
I have asked Ace for my stats previously but haven't received them as yet.

Yeah I'd be keen to have a look at how much effort goes into it.
Craigmore has kept records of every game since it started in 1987 but now mycricket is commonplace seems silly to do data entry into 2 seperate databases.

I entered few old scorebooks for Rose & Crown the other year, its a very long and at times frustrating process, on a good book would take a couple hours to finish a season.
Some issues that arose:
Players not being in the database and having to get assoc to add them
Clubs being defunct and having to be added
Assoc not having program for that season in mycricket
Scorebooks not adding up and having to then juggle the figures to save the match
Also you had to select your side each week unless it was unchanged, of course in the lower grades that never happens!
I suggest you get a few people sharing the load, and try to ensure all players are in mycricket for that season before you start.

Is there a way to just add career totals?
Instead of having to go back and add each individual game

No, if there was that would've made life A LOT easier!
I think because it is a statistics database, entering the games enables a more detailed breakdown/report of the stats i.e batting runs/ave in positions etc and also it eliminates the chance for people to falsify stats

Not as far as I'm aware at least. It's a daunting task for any individual, but not insurmountable. As PG said, it's probably best to line up a bunch of people to all chip in, but finding volunteers is getting harder as it is without adding another task for them.
He probably forgot. He's got all of them on file but only brings out the stats for players who played the previous year. Easiest way to get yours is to come out and have a hit one game.

You can do season totals by grade, that's about as broad as I can find.
It won't give you a detailed breakdown for individual players (like runs at each batting possie, but it still updates the main stats like total runs, career average, etc).
With 75 seasons and 5 teams per year, it's a fair undertaking just to do that.

I am not old enough to make a comeback for Salisbury West.

How does it work with players that have been cleared from your club? Can you still "select" them in teams for previous seasons?
