ROUND ROBIN: A win earns 6 points. An undecided match 3 points each. A loss 1 point. In determining finals contenders first points, then Head to Head, then Net Run Rate, then Performance Quotient and then coin toss will be used.

By reading this, a team which finishes above another on percentage but lost to the lower team in the round robin misses out?

Doesn't make much sense to me nor do I agree with that concept...

So the Round Robin section of the draw has been completed and two higher placed teams appear to miss out on finals because of this rule. I don't like it at all.

Both Coro Rambler & Plympton who have higher Net Run Rate miss out because they got beaten by the team below them on the table - and in Coro's case by almost 1 whole point!
Not that it will make much of a difference to final placings but our T20 on Tuesday against Morphy Park was called off due to them having a COVID scare, I believe they had a player test positive and they had some casual contacts? Morphies also called off their second T20 teams game against Happy Valley.

At the moment the match has been postponed and with the T20 semi finals on the 8th of February I'm assuming we will have to play the match this coming Tuesday, the 1st of February?

Also it remains to be seen if Morphies will play in round 11? Will all 6 of their grades play?

Wow what a week but we got 6 teams playing this round. We have only 4 guys out with COVID thanks to a lot of players self isolating this week, getting tested and not playing Tuesday night or training Thursday night think we beat COVID this round. On top of that got 17 other guys unavailable for various reasons. A lot of phone calls this week and a few guys playing injured/sore unbelievable effort from everyone at the club.

The facts: Coromandel declared 0/0 in a very sporting declaration, setting Plympton 133 from 34 overs in an opportunity to win outright on second innings. Bottom of the ladder Plympton didn’t even have a crack at it. Let you make of that what you will.

S5 Coromandel Ramblers V Sheidow Park

Week 2 COVID replacement player (after player deemed as close contact) approved by the association - makes 100* & seemingly changes the result of the game...

Not sure if the like for like assessment made by the association was correct on this occasion.

I'm more impressed with

5x scores of 0
1x player retiring not out
5x penalty runs.

Who did Linsenmeier replace? A player who has only played C grade for SP? Looking on MyCricket prior to Saturday he's played 2 B grade matches and 2 C grade matches this season.

We had a COVID replacement last round aswell as our president who plays in our C grade had to go into isolation with his son contracting COVID and he was replaced by our C grade captain's son who has only just become available to play due to having a knee reconstruction last year. This didn't have any impact on the match as the WYC B grade made light work of our C grade.

Exactly, getting hit on the helmet does hurt.

Had a mate get hit on the box, the box split open and then pinched his snag as it closed, he screamed like a shot pig for ages, we couldn't work out what had happened until we seen the box was attached to him, it hurt us seeing it.

The team I love to despise, Happy Valley.

Anyone within the Association board want to admit that they got completely bluffed by HV now.

A grade not doing as bad as they said they would, 5th.
B grade undefeated in section 6. Top.
C grade lost only 2 games, top.

I will say that their C grade will find it a lot tougher in finals when they get proper umpires.

Does it help when the association secretary is a HV man? :?

A great day at Hackham yesterday for the T20 finals

Div 1 ICC defeated MV Park by 18 runs

Div 2 Mitchell Park def Southern Warriors by 1 run (last ball of the day needing 14 from last over!!)

Div 3 Coromandel Ramblers def Sheidow Park (defended 97 & rolled the bulls for 70!)

Good luck to the team's that made finals this weekend.

Unfortunately, my F grade missed finals by percentage, but for a 6th team, we gave it a pretty good crack.

To all the club's we played against in section 10, I can honestly say that everyone played in the right spirit and just enjoyed being out on the field, playing our great game.

Well, nearly every club.

ICC, Mitchell Park, Ramblers, Keswick, Porties and Warradale were terrific blokes.
South Road, we didn't get a chance to meet you, as our only game was a forfeiture from them.

Happy Valley, well ,you know my feelings here.

Cheers Moe

Does anyone know the ruling on qualification in each section?

I was under the impression that if you played more games in a higher section, you couldn't play finals in a lower section?
If so, there's been quite a few permits handed out.

I believe if you have a number of teams in the finals you have alot more flexibility.

Ie ICC have team playing S1 & S3 so players can still move between?

Great game in Section 2 - Sheidow Park vs Port Noarlunga.

Sheidow chasing 209 made it 6 down with 3 overs to go.

Harding and Kilderry gone cheap gave Porties hope of an upset victory against the team which were easily the best in the Section all season but they were just too good in the end.

Unfortunately Porties lost 2 of their first choice players the night before the game to COVID which could've made a difference but it wasn't to be.

Porties have no excuses and their hosts are a good club.. I wish them all the best in the final
