Cove won last year and Plympton beat us last year. You're wrong.

The top 4 looks to be a race between Cove, South Rd, Sheidow Pk, WYC and Coro.

Coro keeping their chances alive with 2 outrights in the last few rounds.

Keswick are still a slight chance but would need at least one outright it would seem to get a spot.

Grade cricket in the C and D grade has been called off already.
Should the ASCA do the same?

Based on the forecast this could be the first ever game called off completely for heat. Since it's a one dayer and therefore all fair if both innings on the same day should we be playing?
Ramblers vs Coro not being played in a season doesn't seem right. We would like to win the Benson Magarey Cup of the A Grade result than only the efforts of the C and D grade lads ;)

This weekend is the David Lee Memorial game between Morphy Parks and WYC - anyone who knew David (General or Sleazy as he was also known) is welcome back at Morphy's on Sat night - BBQ dinner available, DJ and some raffles to try to raise some money for beyond blue. The first two have been great nights and from the sounds of things this one will be no different.

In reference to AF's post, couldnt agree more. Also we had a scratch match up at Hewett Oval last Saturday when it was forecast at 42... it was nowhere near that temperature and we had two full sides playing in what were relatively comfortable conditions.

AF, if it does get called off we should still have a Magarey Benson decider on Saturday! Or at least some sort of competitive derby match.

Imagine if this was day 2 of the GF and the first day had been called off due to heat also.

It would also be a great shame if the David Lee memorial game was called off (with the temps we have been having lately 40 degrees is nothing).

Our B Grade, Coro's C Grade? Kind of an unfair advantage that.

Yes I think we will manage to get a game up this weekend if it's officially called off. If not everyone from A grade can play I'm sure a couple of our Bs would fill the void no problem.

I understand that if the game is cancelled due to heat both the MPCC & WYC have agreed to play an exhibitional T20 match instead for the David Lee Shield.
Whoever came up with the idea is a bloody legend!
A twilight T20 match played in jovial spirits whilst I lean lazidazically on the fence drinking $5 pints, eating a $10 mixed grill & partaking in some light sledging (of both teams) seems like a bonza way of spending a Saturday evening.
Everyone is invited. Even Sheidow park!

I can tell you that it felt much worse than the 43 degrees it reached on Saturday when we left the pub on saturday afternoon about 3:30. Wouldn't have been pleasant playing in that.

Blackwood probably would've been a bit cooler no doubt.
