So guys any news for MTCA this year? Any player movement that we know off. Surely it's time for Craig Fidge to move clubs ;)

 The self confessed "great man" has joined facebook ranks, so perhaps looking to sell himself to potential suitors...

Imps have first training this Sunday... have a new president with new ideas, sponsors and a few new players, so should see improved perfomances on the field this year. Very excited about the upcoming season....

Meyer Shield this week. Looks like another year of the better players not making themselves available. Talking with some mates i see that Mypo is being used as the head quarters for the weekend but only 1 player i think playing in the MTCA team. Why is the best bowler in my opinion in the comp not playing? Always available for Mypo every saturday. Person picked as captain not even captain of his club side. Just a few points for discussion.

Interesting to say the least. Zrim would be close to the best batsman also and it is a shame hes unavailable for whatever reason.

Not sure on A.Fidge leadership past but unsure whether J.Marsten has had and leadership experience either. Some weird selections for sure.

2 spinners, must be some turning tracks........................oh wait thats right its hardwicket cricket.

Who would you have in there been there done that if all were ready and avaliable???

So with the top 4 far from set it will be an interesting final 2 rounds of Cricket.

You would think Mypo, Monarto and Mannum are safe but that last spot as it does every year will come down to the final round.

Jervois would be spewing with there loss to us couple of weeks ago now basically have to beat Mypo again to sneak into the 4.

Karoonda on the other chance have Mannum @ home then Meningie @ Meningie and if the Bluds lose then 1 win here will secure finals action for them.

Although in saying all that two big losses to Mannum could cost them a spot too.

Just how it should be with a bit on the line coming into the business end of the season

Interesting scoreline in the A2 Semi Final

Imperials All Out for 157 off their allotted 40 overs . In reply Perponda slumped to 9/6 before a brave rearguard 10th wicket partnership of 3 runs saw them put some sort of respectability into the total to see Perponda finish with a total of 9 runs off 13.2 overs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is seriously F*****D UP

In some positive news for Murray Towns cricket, they took out the Figg Cup (U/21) by defeating A&EHCA on Sunday at Strathalbyn with their captain Jayden Krollig taking an incredible 5/2 off 10 overs with 8 maidens !!! which was a vast improvement on his previous Figg Cup match 2 weeks earlier against Great Southern where his figures were 0/45 off 7 overs !!!!!

Another remarkable scoreline tho not in Murray Towns tho very near by was Callingtons B Grade who were bowled out for 19 with Lobethal requiring only 12 balls for victory.

There was a Mankad  in yesterdays Murray Towns Grand Final
Damn ordinary imo
Mannum still lost anyway

Must say tho i didn't watch the match looking at the scores one could say that it was the only bit of excitement all day
93 overs in total with the run rate at about 2 1/2 throughout and it's one day cricket

We have a bit of an issue up in the mid north with all the rain making for some nice lush ovals and Councils who are unwilling to cut the grass as often as required and as low as we would like because of the sprinkler systems. Most games up here are being won with 120 on the board in a 40 over match this year.

Was like that in the A&EH for a lot of grounds until after the Christmas break. Some with grass a little too long others were just soft under foot due to the wet long spring we had.
Plenty of grounds 100 was a decent score to be able to defend off of 40 overs.

I've seen footage of said incident and the non striker did back up by a few steps before the bowler did what he did. Fair effort from the bowler who knocked only middle stump out of the ground.
