2 weeks ago there was 30mm of rain that fell in the early hours of friday morning.
this week we got 10mm, which fell in two halves, being lunchtime thursday and then roughly 8pm thursday evening.

Not sure I agree that this week is worse than 2 weeks ago.

How many runs are you guys chasing this week? haha

Hahaha..... not chasing runs I can promise that. 10mL is being very light in a lot of areas quite a few had substantially more yesterday let alone overnight as well. i personally think day 2 of a game should very rarely be called off by the association.

Agreed .... what we had two weeks ago was much worse. That said, I'm sure some clubs won't be able to get a wicket up, but no need to call off all matches with uncovered pitches.

3 outrights in the one round for A3 - would be pretty unheard of?

In A2 Gepps Cross v Fulham, Gepps had bowled 79 overs by 5.48 and were ready to bowl their 80th, when Fulham declared meaning Gepps had to bat for 1 over. Previously if a team got bowled out or declared after 5.30, the opposition didn’t have to bat. In my opinion this should not be happening as it doesn’t encourage teams to get through their overs quickly. If Gepps had gone the other way and bowled slowly they get fined or lose points. What makes it worse is that one of the umpires (who has been umpiring in the league for years) didn’t know the by law had changed as he doesn’t have Facebook.

What Fulham did was within the rules, but I feel is not within the spirit of the game. Just looking for others opinions.
Nope fair play to Fulham. Show intent that they want to play aggressive cricket and win.

Couldn't agree more. What top order bat wants to bat for an over or two at the end of the days play after being in the field for near 80 overs? Using the rules to advantage for mine, even if they didn't get one. Looks like they felt they had enough on the board and the end result seems to back that call in.

Disagree......who wants late finishes?

If Fulham wanted to declare after 75 overs faced and it's before 530pm then fair play. Shouldn't be done after 530pm or after 77 overs have been bowled. Just gets more cricketers either retired, divorced or out of love with the game.

Finishing at 6pm isn't a late finish, it's finishing at the scheduled finish time.

That rule didn’t bother Fulham this week against SHOC
21/140 for the days play.
Woody Sth with another big score batting first.

More to come this weekend too. Teams with covers who manage to get play underway are definitely advantaged this season. I guess that is fair; they have invested in them.

Had covers on since Wednesday night so squares dry.
Problem today is going to be wet so gonna be hard to get on it.
I'm thinking play is going to be doubtful.
