Whilst we have been relatively lucky with covid so far, it's only going to take one of the bigger multi team clubs to be severely impacted and the flow on affect would be massive..

Looking at results in grade 1 and 2 clearly it was 2 day rules.... why did the umpire in our game tell us that there was no points once we passed their score ? We missed out on 16 overs in the end!

Obviously your umpire didn't read the rules - scheduled 2 day matches that turn into 1 day matches have kept 2 day rules since forever.

Had the final zone game for U18s T20 yesterday. Gotta say im a fan of the format. Played 5 games over 3 Sundays (although 1 was a washout). Had 5 teams in our zone comp, Eastern Pk, Angle Vale, Sandy Creek, Angaston and Two Wells. Would be great to see more next year.

Correct. So how does the association rectify points that could have been earned ?

While it's nice to expect umpires are perfect, equally the captain should know the rules and have a copy of the bylaws book with him so he can show the umpire when he's getting it wrong.

Just as much on the captain as it is the umpire.

Bad luck, no rectification, IMO obviously.

Did hear this yesterday, I don't think asking for 1 bonus point is out of the question.

Hard to see it really making much difference in the scheme of things - still bit over a game behind Smithfield, and a game clear of Eyre Royals.

Hard to quantify one bonus point as well given they were 5 down. Could maybe do run rate.

3.65 * 16 overs = 58.46 runs = 0.59 points... less adjustment for probs getting bowled out, round it to 0.5 :P

Surely cant make up a figure of points to give.(for an ump error)…….......very dangerous precedent to set.

Ump stuffed up but the club captain should have know a bit better as well or at least searched themselves.......everyone learns and you move on and don't let it happen again.

Captain was very aware but once a decision is made there is only so much you can dispute before it goes too far.

Also Bedge I agree 1 point may not matter much but you never know!

Exactly, I can't see one point making a big difference but can see NEK feeling short-changed, and yes, it could've been rectified immediately with a flick through the rule book or a quick call to Pete, he would've appreciated it as he could've got away from me for a minute.

Meh!!

Maybe a couple of dinner vouchers at the comps sponsors could smooth it over.

Yeah but giving points gets messy coz its not just you guys....the opponents also have to be given points. Based on the game played they didn't earn as many points as you so should the league give out them the same or presume they weren't going to earn as many etc.

You had the option to call the league executive if you felt a significant mistake was being made....you didn't do that.
