As it wasnt out in the public sphere I held back posting this earlier.

But this morning the president of the PDCA Andrew Quinlish (Quinny) passed away from a heart attack in his home.

Very sad news for his family especially his partner and kids and the large circle of mates he has.

My father in law passed suddenly in the same way and its a massive shock for the family to deal with as well as the sadness.

My condolences to all the Quinny family and friends.

Terrible news, came as a fair shock. Sincerest condolences to Amanda and the kids / rest of the family. :(

Too many people i've known this year have passed from a heart attack.. it's a bit of a wake up call.

I lost a mate at 29 from one.
Know your body, learn the warning signs and always get checked out if something is a bit off in your chest.

Just went to the PDCA web site to see if a new president had been appointed and found the most unprofessional thing the association has done in years. All they have done is to strike through (crossed out) Quinny's name. Surely they could have removed his name and replaced it with something like 'to be appointed'. Bad play.

Spoke to someone who had an idea for you.
EP to go to grade 3 with limited number of their "A"grade players. If others want to play there are other grade 1 clubs. If they gain promotion their restrictions ease to some degree allowing them to progress up the grades. Other clubs have had restrictions coming back into the association as well as the ones who want to go down the grades due to players leaving. eg SN. This allows Royals to go to grade 1 and also allows Royals "B" to be promoted to grade 2 as they won grade 3 and earnt promotion which if Pirates are promoted as well didn't earn promotion. Now Enfield "A" can go to grade 3 and push their "B" to grade 4. Bedge's problem solved.

Out of respect for Quinny, I think they should leave the position vacant this season, allow him to hold the title but add a cross or note in the yearbook marking his passing.

I’m sure Curry, Clarko, Duncs & rest of the committee can carry / delegate then brunt of any presidential responsibilities over the season.

Thanks for highlighting that.
It was an unintentional error by the person who manages the PDCA website who was just removing Quinnys mobile number out of respect.
That has been fixed up and no disrespect was intended.

Good to see Atco hold their first training session over the weekend. Got close to 20 people there including some new faces.

Would be great to see them get good numbers this year, a strong Atco is good for the PDCA.

I know there definitely putting in the hard yards to attract people.

Just didn’t really work for them in the end, hopefully it’s different this season though :)

What 14 wickets and 155 runs isn't a good return?

Well about a month to go until season kicks off.. wont lie, genuinely have no interest this season.

Started getting some texts last few days from players - forgot just how dumb our players are.. dunno if I can handle another 6 months of them

In other news, good work by ATCO with their efforts kick starting juniors again - that's where it's at! Who cares about 20 blokes at senior training.. gotta build up the kids.

What's movement around the traps?

Ran into Adam Freeman Friday night who indicated he was gonna head out to Salisbury West this year, and Nitney perhaps returning.. Westies look set for another strong season.

Talk around Eastern Park is they're going to be very strong - guessing they'll get their usual suspects back from around the place.

Tyson McIver heading out to Dublin for what he's says is BIIIG money.. and a club near Anderson Walk forking out $3k on players in their tilt at a flag.

Atco have Dylan Childs back which will give them a pretty decent opening pair.

Tyson was trying to get 'big' money from clubs out this way in particular Lower North. All clubs passed very hard.

Good luck to him though, if you throw enough darts...…...
