There was a suggestion that a player playing both 17 and A grade was being paid
The suggestion came from players of his former team who got it from the horses mouth
The horse had handy GF in both grades
Well paid

All things being equal i think Sandy win easy, Nuri's batting is pretty ordinary.

However, last season and this season were the 1st years of clubs having home finals.
Last years one day GF, Tan def Ang @ Ang, this year Ang def Tan @ Tan
In the semi's on the weekend both home teams lost, 3rd and 4th winning hasnt happened for a long, long time, i cant remember it ever happening to be honest.
I think there's a bit in this. The away team can just rock up and play, the home team has cones, pitch prep and anything else that pops up to deal with, If it was up to me id be picking a neutral venue.

A packed of chips and cones to a couple of young lad should at very least get the stumps done.

What constitutes getting "paid" exactly?? Match payment? Sign on payment? Incentives? Subs free?

Hang on, you put a post out making accusations then back peddle with "there was a suggestion" you take a third hand rumour and try to rubbish a club with it, all class!! its always a shame when others throw rubbish to diminish the achievements of a club.

I must apologise your speculation was correct, I asked around and he did get paid, he was offered and got a pasty and a can of coke, this is now being looked into as it was not committee approved, thanks for bringing it to our attention

I’m hearing there will be no A1 reserves for the 2021/22 season. What are everyone’s thoughts on that if true?

I'm not sure of the logic behind calling it A1 Reserves anyway, shouldn't it be just A2? They aren't the reserve teams of teams in A1.

Angaston’s “B” grade played A1 Reserves.
It was essentially A1 Division 1 and A1 Division 2.
Grading has changed and now the top 3 grades of A1, A2 and A3 are all 10 team comps with 2 day cricket only

It was initially from 10 or so years ago when the A1 grade decreased in number and they were the A grade teams of those clubs not in the A1 comp originally a 6 team comp and these clubs could move up and down

over time a number of these teams have fallen away - numbers etc and eventually Angaston came in as they were winning A2 flags

Angaston had nominated in the last couple of years to go down to A2 but wanting to keep with 8 teams they stayed up

now at 10 teams it becomes 3 grades were some clubs a grade teams will play some clubs b grade teams

Waiting for the fixture be posted
may be interesting as a number of clubs see the new format as a new competition and have nominated above or below the grades they were in for a variety of factors
