Full Track AI

Feel free to delete.

Our club is thinking of getting the FullTrack AI. Any clubs using it? If so is it worth it?

Essentially all you need is a phone tripod that reaches 1.5m and anyone's Iphone and you can track bowlers, length, speed, swing, etc. We think the kids at the club would love this and be a great tool to entice them to bowl more in the nets. Cost wise its $30 a month for a subscription that can be cancelled at any point so not cost prohibitive. $150-$180 for the year.

If it does what it says it can could be a good investment.

Private cricket coach who coaches individuals at our club uses it, looks neat and fun, but I struggle to see the value once the novelty wears off.. and not ideal for team trainings where blokes love to try and whack the ball like they're at a golf range.

He's also got a product that sticks to the back of a bat and has an app on his phone, can track all shots, timing etc - that looks far better... i dont remember what it's called though.

If you do remember the name please let me know.....

We are just looking at different ways we can engage the kids further and tangibly show them the improvements they are hopefully making. If they feel they are getting better they are more likely to stay playing the game longer.

Neither can I grabbed one for my son as a Christmas gift. Probably a bit gimmiky, but the lad is a bit of a cricket nerd, and will love it. It tracks bat speed, launch angle etc, bit like what they show on the fox coverage of the cricket (not sure if 7 do). You'd look like a fair twat if you left it on your bat in a game though I'd reckon. Its a training thing only.

That's the one! Thanks!

He makes his son keep it on for all games as well.

He said it's super useful for finding out how much work a kid has done in a session i.e. balls faced, focus areas etc.

Interesting, I guess in kids cricket no one would probably notice.

Recall a few seasons back my son telling me he was up to the stumps keeping and he noticed the bloke batting (Southerns or Woodville, IIRC) had an autograph on the back of the bat he was using. Said it took him a few overs to dechiper it. Darcy Short. "Hey look fella's this bloke has had his bat signed". Bloke copped it for the next 2 overs & then threw his innings away!
