Ok, I will then. .. EP would come VERY CLOSE to being the worst ground all round...ground is crappy, changerooms are crappy (You have to whisper the pre match address so they dont hear you on the other side of the consantina wall). Modbury would come a close 2nd, their changerooms (tinshed) are a breeding ground for all sorts of diseases, its disgusting, and their ground is a mudpit in general. Their only saving grace is the bar, but even that is fairly small...
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Lol about time!!! I know our ground is pretty dodgy... try getting into the office on match day you actually have to go into the opposition rooms! Its no wonder most of the other teams have their team meeting outside theres less chance of being overheard. And the state of the oval is terrible the council normally dump a big load of sand on it for cricket and that doesnt help. Actually on saying that, this season for the first time the council laid turf at both ends of the cricket pitch and in the goalsquares. Covering up the bald patches :)
Im not saying i dont love my club cos i do but something needs to be done about the rooms at least.

You must have played there a while ago Fudd. Even before we got the new gym done the facilities were good. Visitors change rooms used to be a bit small but now they have our old ones. We have a couple of rooms plus the gym which is as good as a league club's. Plus the hall/bar is better than any amateur club I've been in.

Most of the grounds down in the Great Southern are great, most are big and with good surfaces, and alot of them have great spots to view whats happening out on the oval.

The best ones:
STRATH - surrounded by huge pine trees, and a great size. Like many in GSFL has a turf pitch which can get pretty hard.
LANGHORNE CREEK - Great surface, solid wooden goal posts like the ol' ones at footy park and the best change rooms in the league
YANKALLILA - i reckon the best, big, lush and has a 2 story clubrooms plus heaps of parking above the playing surface, great for watching. also can warm up on the hockey fields out the back (04 GF was massive)

Worst ones:
WILLUNGA - small and an 11ft slope accross the ground (alot like Uraidla)
MYPONGA - too big and really soft under foot, shit change rooms

surface wise - park 10 aka bob neil #2 aka university's 2nd ground. the rain just drains away with only slight muddiness on the cricket pitch if really bad rain. always well grassed and large. changerooms are fine but the lack of any canteen etc really hurts.

eastern park's sandpit can be a tad harsh and is probably the worst to play on.
ovingham's ground is built for primary school students and makes eastern park look large.
athelstone's foxfield reserve - built on a slope, trees overhanging with a soft underlay of gravel and sand was also never fun to play at.

love the panther park (st mary's) bbq and deep baths.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Have to disagree, best BBQ is at Broadview Oval. Steak to Bread ratio is second to none. Pricewise is a winner too.

you blokes must have left the plug in the day we played there then this year

only gripe with the changerooms was that there was just a little bit too much junk in the visitiors side but hey you can't have every thing.

not a bad spot to play cricket at either

Most of the parkland ovals are sh!t, Pulteney, Lutheran and PAOC all have bad facilities and lack atmosphere. CBCOC not too bad, at least it resembles an oval !!!

Played at CBCOC one day back in like 2001 and it was like a swimming pool.May have just had a bad day though, worst ground fro mud would be Hope Valley, but still would not hold a candle to some of the hills grounds such as macclesfield and the ever famous Bridgewater.

Best Ovals
Sacred Heart's Main Oval
SMOSH

Worst Ovals
Ironbank & Bridgewater Ovals. Two of the biggest sh*t heaps going around and both are the size of postage stamps. Bridgewater has a 38m arc rather than a 50m one.
Mt.Barker Oval - For such a big town (you could almost call it a city) it is one of the worst grounds to play footy on. The ground is a strange shape and virtually has no pockets. One day of good rain and the oval is a bog. I know of several instances where players have contracted infections requiring hospitalization from the Mt.Barker mire.

do you mean the main uni ground with the dodgy electronic scoreboard or the one near the archery ground/lion hotel?
watched a game at uni main oval this year - hectorville v uni when the crowd would cheer uncontrollably when the ball would splash into the little lake on the flank nearest the grandstand.
who do you play for heater?

About time someone put up Hope Valley for mud, along with CBC next to racecourse. That ground, being low compared to the surrounding parklands, always guaranteed a mudpit from late May onwards.
Our oval up at St Ignatius Athlestone was truly horrible through late 80s and early 80s with black stinking mud, but it's picked up a little bit, for the odd games we rarely get to still play there.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.
