scarey crowd is all I can think of LM - especially when Azza kicked a goal and went over to them beating his chest 8)
but now days could be the blokes walking out of the front bar from over the road ;)

The front bar is pretty mellow on a saturday afternoon. I remember Azza going off a few times back in the day, was a bit quiter when Big Nev stood him though.

indeed especially seeing Nev lent on Azza's chest with his head all day

We played there last year and the surface was appalling....Rooms and club, excellent, no question there... I know its good to be biased occasionally but please....

The surface there is usually ok Choccies. As with most of ovals down that way, it drains well. The visitors changerooms are apalling though. The lights at Haven are excellent.

Felch, late last year it was a mix of weeds, holes, sandy patches and about 12 varying types of green shrubbery. Was a dogs breakfast and I thought it was even a tad unsafe.... But driving past last week it looked alot better (from a distance mind you)

I can admit choccies that when you played as last year it wasn't not in a good condition, but at the moment it's in an excellent condition.

Don't get me wrong your ground is excellent. I've played cricket on plympton twice and a trial game last year and all 3 times it was in a great condition, apart from the mud covering the cricket pitch (which they had just done) of course.

I can gladly say that after 12 years of supplying very sub par facilities to our visitors that the away team faciilities at Harpers Field at Golden Grove are now sensational !!

Maybe apalling is too harsh on them. Most away rooms are small, i think the fact that the Haven ones seem to be a storage room too doesnt help though. I know ours are tiny, but are clean and well kept.

Our visitors rooms are almost identical to our home rooms, for a couple more years at least.

Looking forward to it mate. Do the new away rooms have an ice bath? I won't be able to get out of bed on Sunday without one. :)

The old transportables have been taken away and a new facility has been built. It is on the same site, but next to where the new oval will be. So currently you cant see the old oval from where it is but it will overlook the new oval when that is planted some time this year.
Its awesome to finally have something that we can be proud of !!

Mate, our ground is never muddy and always lush, comparing it to Plympton is an insult. Each to their own but could you please list any faults that our ground has, I'm curious.

We never win out there  Nah It's more the dimensions,I hate that outer wing... Keeps going and going and going. Mind you we have the biggest bugger of a ground in the SAAFL so maybe i'm being hypocritical ;)

All good mate, I was just curious, our oval is infact wider than it is long, if you follow the boundary line when marking out a cricket oval one side is approx 60m and the other is more than 90m.

Gee, I didn't notice is was that big. when we played our trial there I just thought u guys hadn't done the lines yet and you just decided to put the cones down wherever. that outer side just goes forever, a few guys over the years must of have got lost out there.

We may have lost a GF there but it's a great ground, easily one of the best grounds in Adelaide.
