You would have to think that anyone who goes onto play first class cricket for South Australia would have to give up a football career to do so. Darren Lehmann (Gawler Central), Rick Darling (Waikerie/Ramco), James Smith (Mannum) and Ben Dougall (Ramblers) to name a few. I have also heard that Gary Putland possibly played for someone in the Great Southern league.

Already been mentioned Jumbo. My old man played at Gawler Centrals one year with Boof and Wilbur Wilson, fun times

Shutts is a Winefly.

Correct...played cricket with him for many years until he got the 10 gig. Good wicket keeper, A grade premiership player and captained B grade premiership also.
Pretty sure Brett played at Mt Barker.

Brett definitely did.
I embarassed myself in a trial game one year.
We were playing Mt Barker and I walked up to my opponent and asked, "is Brett Shuttleworth playing today?"
"Yep, sure is, how are ya, mate?"
It'd been a few years since I'd seen Brett.

And yes, Ian was a good wicketkeeper. Represented state in indoor cricket.
Top bloke to boot.

Former Wunkar, East Murray, Brown's Well and Loxton North footballer Peter Lines is a renowned author. Does that count as famous?
