Unley Oval would be the worst when it rains for a couple of weeks. Example couple of years ago, you would go past ankle deep mud.

I cannot believe that West Croydon's oval has not been mentioned as yet!!
Its an absolute disgrace
We have had one of players daughters (approx 3 yo at the time) come running up to us with a needle in her hand, thankfully she came out of it ok
Then when we played there this year the B gr started 15mins late so we could have an emu parade to get the broken glass off the oval

Bit biased with some of these picks, naturally, but from what I can remember:

Favourite (not necessarily best)

Semaphore Park/West Lakes/SMOSH ground
Lockleys
Unley

Least Fave

Glandore
Golden Grove
Flinder Uni (always thought it wasn't symetrical, but could have had one too many the night before)

Can't really say I ever had a problem with any of the ovals I played on TBH

Absolutely no contest on worst for mine - the old Kersbrook Oval (at the top of town, not the new one that has been there around 10 years). A creek running through the middle in winter, with post-game spent picking gravel out of your knees. Dead set shocker.

Don't know about the worst but the coldest I've played on would be;

Williamstown (Barossa Districts)
Eudunda
Pt MacDonnell
Portland, Vic

but the wetest would be Gardens Oval in Darwin in December/January, closely followed by Waratahs Oval and Nightcliff Oval. Now that's rain!!

Coldest??? Ararat - by a country mile... i'm sure Tassie would back me up here... I remember playing there in -4c weather, couldnt see the centre square from the bench for the sleet... and then some bastard decided to do a knee.... on the other side of the oval...took me 10 mins to find him
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Never umpired there, living in Nhill it would have cost them $130 in travel allowence for me to umpire down there before I even blew the ACME thunderer in anger....

X-Sharkey Myponga??? when did you last play there 1992?? They did the oval up in 93 and it is a great ground to play on now. beats Willunga Victor, Compas and YAnk easy.

Before they did it up yep, it was a shocker.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yes the Old Kesrbrook Oval would scare many an opposition player and soon as he drove in through the gates. No wonder we had a huge Home Ground Advantage. Hard as a Rock during Pre Season/ April/ May and would have a river run down the middle of it during wet winters. Brett James still lists it as his favourite ground of all time!!!!

Come on Tassie Pongys a better oval than Yank? Ur living in a dream world. Victor also much better than Pongy.

Pongys lumpy, way too soft and still gets water logged after rain! Nobody looks forward to playing there!
