Thanks heaps Fisho The fact i love my job probably helps a little bit, lol. The growing number of girls now wanting to play is making my job a 'little' easier too. I can't wait until i'm old enough to see the girls i've taught at auskick running around in the national women's league.

Yep, I think so. I miss it. I need to get some more physio done first, cos at the moment I shouldn't be playing contact sports at all, but I definitely want to get out there again!

STATE U18 YOUTH GIRLS FOOTBALL COACH FOR 2013

The SANFL and SAWFL are seeking a dynamic and motivated person to coach the South Australian U18 Youth Girls State Football team for 2013.

The key responsibilities for this role include:
- The ability to develop players to their full potential, through a comprehensively planned training program.
- The ability and experience to implement a well defined coaching and playing strategy.
- Demonstrated relevant coaching skills, with an emphasis on player development.
- Travel to Victoria in May 2013 (exact dates TBA) to coach the selected SA U18 Youth Girls State Football team at the National Championships.

A small honorarium will be paid and cost of all travel is covered

Applicants with previous successful coaching experience of female athletes will be highly regarded. Some fun facts for your friday;

1) Today the Eyre Peninsula Women's Team is making the long haul to Broken Hill to take part in 'Part 2' of the Regional Women's Football Showdown. The game will be played in Broken Hill tomorrow afternoon. These EP & Broken Hill women are AMAZING! I will also be in Port Lincoln from the 7th- 10th of Novemeber to continue to promote Female Footy, and start the 9-a-side summer comp on the 9th at Mallee Park FC.

2) The 2012/13 Summer Academy is having a shake up this year. We are now taking the focus to the younger age groups to teach and develop the girls from a younger age... so we can totally dominate at State Carnivals in the near future If you know any girls from the age of 10-15, please let them know about it. 3) Just some shameless self promotion for my footy club, haha. I am running four training sessions in the lead up to xmas, with the focus being on those who are new to the game (or simply wish to improve their skills). If you know any ladies keen to join i'd love to have them out there with us. Also, we're having an U18's team next year... so please let all girls aged 14-18 know too. Thank you muchly

The SAFFTA is a training squad for the States most talented Female Footballers (that was selected after a round of trials and testings), with a focus of reaching an elite level and being competitive at National level. We have only had one training session and already the professionalism is a huge difference, and the coaching & advice is 100% amazing. They really are a great coaching panel, and we are very lucky to have such experience on board.

All teams do at this time of year. From your involvement with your partner playing you would know what us women are like... we're difficult, and like to do more than one thing Football this early in the year (and outside of footy season) is very low on the priority list for some. Even i haven't been out at training due to other committments.

It just provides the clubs with more ammo and opportunity to recruit heavily each year. I would only start worrying if a club is still struggling one week out from Round 1.

Went to some games a few years ago when the missus played. Some of the blokes shouldn't have been coaching either, but I guess you can't knock em for putting their hand up. Have since told the missus she should stick to apropergirls sport, netball.

I think your comment shows how blindly you'll defend women's football. Kluzek would easily be the best coach there.

I wouldn't have a clue who she is but in fairness to big shrek the position your in means your not going to say anything but ultra positive things about the appointment.
