Footy trip shirts

Postby Baron Greenback » Tue Aug 17, 2010 1:51 pm

Just looking for ideas for our upcoming trip to Wallaroo.

In the past we've always had some sort of picture on the back of our club mascot in the town we're staying i.e. Swan giving it to a penguin in Victor Harbor

But we're looking at doing something different this year.

Any suggestions?

the 2 I have been on, we had just a slogan. Used the Die Hard slogan and had the logo.

the other one was another slogan, was what happens on footy trip stays on footy trip ( the stays on footy trip was crossed out though and a facebook logo was used)
we made a group and shit like that. got girls to add it in melbourne.

I agree some sort of logo, mascot or slogan is definately a go though. Just a matter of thinking of something good!

I organised shirts for our footy trip last year and got a local cartoonist to do the cartoon for us and he did a fantastic job. I told him what I wanted (a Bulldog biting into a map of WA) and showed him our logo and he drew it up nicely. The price wasn't as bad as I expected too I think it was $150 total for the image that included our names and could then be provided to our screen printer. I found him via google - http://www.cartoonguy.com.au/

He was pretty easy to deal with too, which is nice when you're trying to organise 30 odd blokes and cash as well!

Our slogan was a cracker - "Off to the West Coast, we're here for a spit roast!"

We did the Porn Star tour last year, putting blokes Porn Star names on the back instead of the normal ones, and if you didn't refer to someone as their 'name' during the weekend, it was a skull.

The year before we did Boozopoly, a monopoly board on the back with everyone's name on a property. The older blokes tended to get the expensive lots, while the young blokes with no experience got Old Kent Rd and the like.

I remember spotting our lads getting ready 5 or 6 years ago with a couple shirts.

All on the front - "Look at Melb Ladies, we are Going the Growl"

And i remember the last one i saw.

"C N T all we need is U"

The Downlow... :D I rate that one.

Funniest one (and I have no idea which club it was) was "Never leave a fallen man behind!" Followed by their clubs paraphernalia.

Not very funny, until you're in the same bar at 3 in the a.m, and all bar one have been kicked out...

I strike up a convo with the remaining bloke, and he looks at his shirt, grins, and says "bugger 'em," and rips his shirt off...

The barman quickly forced him to join his mates...

One that was bandied about at the SFC this year that has not got a gig was the "ABWA - Adelaide Brid Watchers Association" With lanyards of differing types of birds that could be naitive to Darwin, Now wether these were going to be legit Birds or others like Spastic Seagulls and the like never got mentioned...

RM, i think you'll find that by using the term 'birds' they mean the female variety aka Ladies...

... but please feel free to take yourself and another certain Salisbury boy 'bird watching' of the Discovery Channel kind. Thanks :)

we have the leaders guernsey ( a yellow top with leaders guernsey written on it) and also the downlow award.
Leaders guernsey is passed between everyone, basiclly drunkest or whoever did the last most outrageous thing claims it. 2 years ago, we had the same bloke wear it for almost 2 days straight, he was BOG by a mile
also won the downlow I believe.
Everyone votes on that on the bus ride back to airport or when we have a minute on the way home.

Klaggy... the Spastic Seagull is when one female entertains 5 men simultaneously, now you count how many hole’s you have and work out where the other two men go… So when the body is doing one thing and the two arms are headed in different directions, we have successfully spotted the rare but valuable Spastic Seagull…

Any more questions for Dr RM?

I am a big fan of the BOG idea and even a little shield being made up? in 20 years time, who is going to remember where we went or who was outstanding on the trip? Unless of course Idiots continue to get Tattoo's to remember the trip...

We are headed to Lincoln this year. I think we will give the shirts a miss in case any trouble happens (even though we've never been involved in any on my 10 years of footy trips) and avoid someone being set upon who perhaps wasn't involved in the first place. We may just do some stubby holders or caps like we have the last couple of seasons.

We also do the Downlow award which gets voted on the last night. The winner get the trophy and also has to skull a schooner filled with 3/4 port, 1 egg and topped with milk! :ymsick:
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!
