THE Andrew Krakouer comeback fairytale is complete after the Swan Districts midfielder kicked the winning goal in the WAFL grand final at Subiaco Oval.

With the Swans trailing Claremont by five points and with the clock 14 minutes into time-on, Krakouer goaled from 25m to put his side back in front.

Moments later, the siren sounded and Swan Districts had broken a 20-year premiership drought, beating the minor premiers 14.16 (100) to 14.15 (99).

Krakouer capped his Sandover and premiership medal with the Simpson Medal as best afield after a stunning performance that netted 40 possessions, 11 marks and four goals.

It was the closest grand final result since the Tigers beat East Perth by two points in 1996, with the lead changing hands six times in the final term alone.

Interesting stat...

1990 - Collingwood, Swan Districts and Port Adelaide all won flags in their respective competitions.

Lets hope the PIES can do the same Dog. :)

That's what I'm hoping for and substitute Port Adelaide, the dominant side of the 90s, with Central District, the dominant side of now, and I'll be a very happy chappy.

Games on ABC iview now ... I forwarded to he final quarter... a Cracker of a game (or should I say Krakouer)

Interesting the VFL did not post their crowd figure. Bit of chat on the VFL forum on it, they believe less than 10,000 were at Eithad Stadium.

Wow! Didn't even know the WAFL GF had been played (was looking for a replay of the Eags vs Bays game on Iview). Clicked on the WAFL GF and went through to the last 20 minutes or so. Amazing game, and I only watched the last 20 minutes!

Highlight 1) A fair bump which sent two players off (including his own team mate on a stretcher)!
Highlight 2) Dodgy goal umpiring decision to put Claremont in front!
Highlight 3) 16 year old kicks his 4th to put Swans back in front!
Highlight 4) Amazing pack mark to win it for Claremont ... or so you'd think!
Highlight 5) Krakouer seals it with his 4th (on top of 40 posessions) at the 33 minute mark!

For any WAFL historians out there, has there been a better Grand Final? Would have to be bloody good to beat that (and like I said, I only watched the last 20 minutes)!
