The website is afl9s.com.au
You can register your self or a team on this site for any one of the 4 comps.

The Inner South comp at St. Marys/Kenilworth/Gaelic Park/Panther Park will be up and running again in the last week of October for aprox 12 weeks with a break over Xmas.
It will be a mixed comp and will be managed by Shane Guy again.
Games are played at 6pm and 7pm on two adjacent pitches. Should the comp get more than 8 teams there will be an 8pm timeslot to accomodate a 10-12 team comp.

This is one of the fastest growing sports around and is ideal for sporting clubs, businesses, social teams, social clubs, public service sectors, over 35s still keen to play non contact footy, as an alternative to a pre-season and inpaticular for those people looking to have fun with their mates,wives/girlfriends in a great social atmosphere.

Over 20 teams have already registered for the various AFL 9s comps. Get in quick and register your teams as there is only 2 weeks left before the season starts.
What other social sport can you play for $99 for a 13 week season which includes match fees, registration, insurance, umpires, ground hire, end of year trophys, equipment, uniforms and the chance to play at AAMI stadium at half time of the Crows/Power

Only issue we had was the 6pm games are tough to get people there after work, would have thought 7pm & 8pm timeslots would be better for everyone.

I think with the expansion of the game this year you are likely to find that there are 6,7 and 8pm timeslots at the venues and you can request as few 6pm games as possible. That would hopefully help.

Already nearly 30 teams have registered for the 4 leagues. Get in quick to register your team or as an individual to avoid the dissappointment of missing out playing AFL 9s :)

As a special added bonus to playing this great version of AFL the 4 competitions will once again be competing in the State Championship. The teams will be selected by the competition managers in an all star format with the winning team crowned State Champions. Last year the two Grand Finalists played prior to the Port v Crows game at Aami stadium. Several other teams who showed the true spirit of AFL 9s where also invited to play in AFL 9s exhibition games at half time of Power or Crows games at various stages through the year.

I have had a few calls about game details, rules and so forth today. Go to afl9s.com.au and there are 7 short videos of the way the game is played, rules, zones and highlights from this years exhibition games that starred some ex AFL stars Kouta, Alessio, Lyle, Mead, Copeland, Starcevich, Kemp, Braun and some not so famous stars mixed in ;) .

If anyone at Gaza is looking for a couple of players, I have signed up with a mate but don't have a team assigned as yet.

At this stage i think there is going to be a "Gaza Allsorts" team playing in the 8pm timeslot at the beggining of the season. This should hopefully facilitate the establishment of a new team. i will be even making a cameo in that team which im sure should see a huge crowd ;)

Im meeting with the potential competition managers this weekend and all the registrations should be finalised next week. At that point we should be able to answer everyones where, when, how and what questions.

Some confusion has occurred with the Registration process at afl9s.com.au

Initially your registration involves an expression of interest. Once this has been recieved you will recieve a registration form from Andrew ainger at the SANFL. You or your team are only oficially registered when you have filled in the form and payed the one off registration AND INSURANCE fee of $200. Thats $200 for a whole season for your whole team or less than $20 per squad member. This must be paid online and must be done prior to the start of the season.
