NEAFL -- conferences to be abolished from 2014

The NEAFL will abolish the conference system from next year, with five clubs not having their licences renewed the league will be cut to 14 teams overall. Four AFL reserves clubs, three QLD clubs, two NSW clubs, four ACT clubs and the NT side will comprise the competition but there is a proposal from North Queensland in consideration.

Tuggeranong will contest the AFL Canberra Div-1 league, while Labrador, Mt. Gravatt, Morningside and Broadbeach will be entering the reformed Queensland AFL competition as of next year.

Will be interesting to see how this affects the interstate matches now...

Port Adelaide are keen for Morningside to play in the SANFL :lol:
