Worst PM ever?

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

A bit early to say about Julia, I think, her background is in the left, although she comes across as fairly moderate. I don't think the majority of Australians will tolerate leaders whose views and policies are too extreme. John Howard was very successful PM by any measure, but he moved into radical territory with Work Choices and paid the price big time. I think Gillard will become something of a hero if she can go full term and win an absolute majority in the next parliament.

Insightful statement. Now try facts.

To be honest i dont know how any of us can sit here and cast aspersions towards others about their selection for worst PM ever. Maybe Bruce from the 20's should get a mention as we was the first PM to lose his seat at an election with Howard being the second. I know who i like and dislike but not confident to say who the worst was.

History has judged Bruce pretty badly and reading up on him you can see why. The guy was living the great Englishman's dream, just "unfortunately" for him he was born in Australia. The guy even left the country during the Great War for England so he could join the English army.

Ask Lindsay Tanner what he thinks of Gillard's supposed left-wing views.

That's so true. She plays to the NSW Right far more than she does the Greens. To say she is caving in to the Greens is pure nonsense (or straight out of the 5AA/Advertiser editoral guidelines ;) ).

Ask Lindsay Tanner what he thinks of Gillard's supposed left-wing views.

Lindsay wouldve been a great PM, we wouldnt have this disgraceful level of gutter politics we have at the moment. A great man i was very disapointed tio hear he was walking away, pure frustration was definatly the reason. A truly great man.

Ok iv had my Tanner suck up, Worst PM was Malcolm Fraser!! They say the way Julia came to power was dodgy, nothing beats MFs disgraceful entry.

But is now ironic i have become a fan of Fraser and respect him a lot. :?

I don't think Mal Fraser's views and politics have actually changed much since he was PM.
However, both major parties have moved to the right of him in both policy and the loss of true liberalism in favour of a more authoritarian stance.
That makes him look better now.

For
Unemployment low.

Inflation under control.

Interest rates low.

Growth OK.

Global Financial Crisis - what GFC, we lead the world?

National Broadband Network - well under way.

Action on Climate Change - under way.

Against:

"Stop the Boats"

"We wuz robbed"

"It's not fair, she lied"

"Another election, the Independents didn't choose us"

Yes, one-sided, but if you disagree, here's your chance to tell us Tony's policies that would make him a better PM.

As I've said before, the worst PM we've had in the last 50 years was comfortably Billy McMahon.

I'm still worried about the NBN's viability.
Have all the potential competitors promised not to compete against it with advanced wireless systems?
Do we yet know what the service will cost to use?

I don't think Gillard has any idea of being a Prime minister.

She is an embarrasment.

Lies, Lies, and more Lies.

"she should be playing full forward for the Western Bulldogs"

=))

She has lost the confidence of the Australian Public. :-q :-q

It seems any labour government is a total fail.
