FYI, those figures are meaningless without context (especially if they refer to CAD). We have the second lowest government debt of 29 advanced countries according to the IMF.

What is scary is Irelands debt, its increasing every day by a massive amount as they cannot keep up just the interest repayments on the debt, so they are paying interest on interest. Everyone is talking about Greece, but Ireland are just as much an EU member and will pull the EU down in the way they are worried Greece will and I cant see how it cant lead to a second GFC?
