Only a 1.2% swing to the libs. Hardly a landslide considering how badly labor have performed.

Anyone got numbers on the informal vote?

That number (1.2%) doesn't mean much at all due to Palmer United distorting things compared to 2010. The meaningful swing is the 2PP swing which is currently around 3.3% to Liberal (from Labor) and that is likely to increase a bit in the final tally after postal votes etc.

The party suffered a 27 per cent slump in its vote in the election but held Adam Bandt's House of Representatives seat and is on track to win four Senate seats.

This is expected to increase the number of Green MPs from 10 to 11.

and this is what they offer...

GREENS Leader Christine Milne has refused to accept personal responsibility for her party's slump in support and instead blamed Labor division and lack of support from the environment movement.

On a separate issue, nothing gives me the shits more than Election Advertising- posters on stobie poles.
I would happily vote for an Independent, who would make a law stating that all election advertising material MUST be removed in the 48 hours preceding the election, and that any posters still up on election day, a $10,000 fine per poster, and maybe stripped of votes.
They're quick to get the shit up, slow to get it down.

It's no surprise the Greens suffered a slump in votes with both major parties excluding them from preferences.

I like the raw data. Preferences are a crock. 1 vote, not 9.

21% of the primary vote in our electorate. Green preferences got the Labor "Minister for invisibilty" over the line after trailing the Libs by 4,000 votes in first preference votes. And the Labor man had the gaul to place the Greens last on his HTV card on "principle". Apparently his principle doesn't extend to not accepting Green preferences in return to retain his seat. Wanker.

You know preferences aren't counted when they talk about primary votes, don't you? The green primary vote slumped. Your point about preferences is also inaccurate. The greens look likely to secure a senate seat in SA due when Labor's votes get reallocated to Sarah Hanson-Young. In some isolated cases the majors preferenced each other such as Melbourne where it was always likely the Greens would lead the primary vote. In that case, the greens were never going to finish 3rd, so Labor and the Liberals were effectively trying to turn that into a race where a reasonably close second on primaries would deliver the seat. In most cases I expect you'll find the Greens ranked high by Labor and lower by Liberal, but still ahead of Labor.
