InDaily revealed yesterday the developer, Adelaide Capital Partners, had approached the Premier personally last year about its plan to buy 400 hectares of government land at Gillman.

Government to restore $900k funding for international student support group

The South Australian Government is promising to restore some of the money it planned to cut to an organisation which attracts international students to Adelaide and provides support programs.
The Government had intended to cut Education Adelaide's funding by $1.6 million a year, saying the three main universities do much of the necessary work.
It now says it will give the organisation $900,000 annually from 2015 if it is wins the March election.
The State Opposition has promised to lift Education Adelaide's funding to $2 million annually if it is elected.
Higher Education Minister Grace Portolesi says the Government's decision is based on a review and is not a response to the Opposition's promise.
"The strong advice identified in that report is that this is the amount that is needed for destination marketing and that should be the focus of Education Adelaide," she said.
Ms Portolesi says the organisation will still have to reduce its functions.
"It'll have a much sharper focus. We had lots of feedback from the three universities for instance who were very supportive of a much sharper focus on destination marketing," she said.
"However, they were very clear about the fact that Education Adelaide should not involve duplication of work, for instance, already being undertaken by them or other government agencies."
